How much does the 2024 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 5,893 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the car’s new look, interior design, smooth manual shifting, and great gas mileage. The Civic also comes through as fun to drive and a strong value for the money.

The main trade-offs are the lack of all-wheel drive and the irritating driver assistance technology.

For you, that means this Civic makes the most sense if you want a compact sedan that feels engaging without giving up everyday usability.

Good and great deals account for 35.9% of listings, which points to a market with some room for smart shoppers.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for the car’s smooth manual shifting and overall day-to-day appeal. The expert evaluation reinforces that this is a proven formula rather than a risky redesign, and it describes the car as a rewarding driver’s car with a high-output turbocharged engine and a manual transmission.

Honda Service Pass includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years and 24,000 miles of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the previous owner lived with the car’s sporty hardware and driving style in a way that accelerated wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, because a clean-looking ad does not replace documented ownership and accident history. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important here if you plan to use the car hard, since the brakes and driver-assistance behavior are both worth checking closely. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the cabin electronics and safety systems behave the way you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si stands apart with its stealthy sporty styling, red interior accents, 18-inch matte-black wheels, and a cabin that feels more expressive than the standard Civic. It also adds metal pedal covers and an aluminum shift knob, while the base setup keeps the car understated.
• Powertrain: You get a high-output turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, paired with a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission, rev-matching, front-wheel drive, and a helical limited-slip differential.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a rear seat reminder. The system can be irritating, so make sure it behaves acceptably for you.
• Infotainment: Every car gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, text-messaging support, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and HondaLink connected services. Native navigation is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says it should return 31 mpg in combined driving, and the test route returned 29.5 mpg.

Which 2024 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic is offered in 1 trim level: Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

The Civic Si is the trim to buy if you want the full enthusiast experience, because it bundles the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, limited-slip differential, upgraded brakes, and the best interior and tech presentation in this lineup. It is the clear fit for you if you care most about driving engagement and still want a compact sedan you can live with every day.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,893 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,054, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,026 sits slightly below last year's $25,254.

That small decline suggests the market has stayed relatively stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that usually means you are not dealing with a model that is suddenly losing appeal, but you also should not expect a big appreciation story.

The good news is that steady pricing can help you plan your exit more confidently, especially if you buy at the lower end of the range. A well-kept example with strong equipment and clean history should remain easier to move than a neglected one.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, with a four-star rating for front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a rear seat reminder.

The caveat is that the system can be irritating in real-world use, especially the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise functions. If you value a calmer driver-assistance setup, you should test those features carefully before you buy.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the proven Si formula intact with a manual transmission, turbocharged power, and strong everyday usability.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $25,310, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $25,026 average.
• It adds a refreshed lineup structure with broader powertrain choices.

The bottom line: If you want the proven enthusiast-friendly Civic Si and you value stable pricing, the 2024 is the safer buy. If you are price-sensitive and want to compare against a newer model-year setup, the 2025 is worth a look, but you should expect to pay more.
