How much does the 2024 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 1.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,671 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the car’s new look, interior design, smooth manual shifting, and great gas mileage. The expert review also points to a fun-to-drive character and easy-to-use technology, which fits a compact sedan aimed at drivers who want everyday usability with more engagement.

The trade-offs are clear: all-wheel drive is not available, the brakes can struggle under repeated hard use, and the driver assistance tech can be irritating. That makes it a strong fit if you want an enthusiast-leaning compact sedan, but less ideal if you prioritize maximum comfort or low-effort commuting.

Good and great deals account for 35.4% of listings, so you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on the smooth manual transmission and good gas mileage. The expert review also describes the Civic Si as a rewarding driver’s car that works well as a daily driver, which supports the idea that it can handle regular ownership without feeling fragile.

Honda also includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years and 24,000 miles of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that hard-driven examples may show wear sooner in the brakes and other performance-focused components.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free status does not guarantee a trouble-free car. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a sporty model like this, since brake condition and prior driving style can matter more than on a standard commuter car. Focus on signs of wear in the brakes, tires, and interior, and make sure the manual transmission and clutch feel consistent.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si stands apart with stealthy exterior styling, red interior accents, metal pedal covers, and an aluminum shift knob, while the cabin also gets a premium-feeling digital instrument setup and touchscreen interface. The base trim gap is that this version is clearly the enthusiast choice rather than the most comfort- or utility-focused one.
• Powertrain: It uses a high-output turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, paired with a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The helical limited-slip differential and rev-matching feature are key parts of the driving experience.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a rear seat reminder system. The system can be intrusive, so test it on your own routes before buying.
• Infotainment: Every Civic Si gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, text-messaging support, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and HondaLink connected services. It does not have native navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says it should return 31 mpg in combined driving, and the test route returned 29.5 mpg.

Which 2024 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic is offered in 1 trim level: Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

The Civic Si is the clear choice if you want the most engaging version of this model year. It adds the high-output turbocharged engine, manual transmission, limited-slip differential, larger brakes, and sportier chassis tuning that define the car’s personality. It also brings the strongest technology package, including the standard Bose audio system and wireless smartphone integration, so you are not giving up convenience for performance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,671 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,055, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,092 sits slightly below last year's $25,366.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may slightly temper resale upside if you sell soon. Even so, the drop is small enough that the Civic still appears to hold value reasonably well for a sporty compact sedan. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in good condition, you should be positioned for a healthier resale outcome than with a model that has seen a sharper price slide.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in all of the individual assessments except for a four-star rating for front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and a rear seat reminder system.

The main caveat is that the system can be irritating in real-world use, especially the lane-keeping and lane-centering functions. That means the Civic’s safety hardware is extensive, but you should test the assistance features yourself to make sure they suit your driving style.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the proven Si formula with a manual transmission, turbocharged power, and strong tech.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $25,380, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $25,092 average.
• It adds a refreshed gas-only Civic lineup with clearer trim separation.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong inventory and solid owner satisfaction. If you are willing to pay more for the newer model year and its updated lineup structure, the 2025 is worth a look, but price-sensitive shoppers should start with the 2024.
