How much does the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback cost?

There are 2,214 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

The 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback stands out because it brings together quality, fun, safety, utility, and affordability in one compact package. It is also the version of the Civic that adds significant utility and an available manual transmission, which helps give it a more engaging character than many small cars. For buyers who want a car that can be enjoyable to drive without making the monthly payment feel punishing, that combination is a major part of its appeal.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and blind-spot warning is reserved for expensive trims. Fuel economy also fell short of EPA rating.

For shoppers who want a well-rounded hatchback with a lively driving feel, 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback is described as practical and safe, with a comfortable cabin and a strong all-around character. Its available turbocharged engine adds to the appeal, and the expert assessment also calls out the model’s refined, sophisticated, and accurate driver-assistance behavior.

The performance notes also point to a car that feels light, lively, and fun to drive in everyday use. On the cost side, the hatchback’s value proposition is helped by the fact that it competes well against pricier alternatives while still delivering a strong equipment mix.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been affected by the model’s known trade-offs in efficiency and feature availability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a lot of city use. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake feel, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you’re expecting.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from the base LX to the value-oriented Sport and the upscale EX-L, with the Sport Touring sitting at the top. Base trims use simpler cabin tech, while the higher trims add more upscale materials and more advanced equipment.
• Powertrain: LX and Sport use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, while EX-L and Sport Touring get the turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder. The Sport and Sport Touring can be paired with a six-speed manual, while the EX-L comes only with a CVT.
• Safety package: Every model gets Honda Sensing, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and low-speed follow capability with the CVT, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot warning is limited to the more expensive EX-L and Sport Touring, and rear cross-traffic alert plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to Sport Touring.
• Infotainment: LX, Sport, and EX-L use a 7-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 7-inch touchscreen. Sport Touring upgrades to a 10.2-inch digital display and a 9-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, HD Radio, navigation, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: Depending on trim, combined driving returns between 29 mpg and 35 mpg. The test car earned 35 mpg, though it averaged 30.2 mpg in evaluation driving.

Which 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L, Sport Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Civic Hatchback’s core practicality and safety equipment without paying for extras. It uses the simpler 7-inch screen setup and the 2.0-liter engine.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more engaging character, including the option of a six-speed manual, while staying below the turbocharged trims. If you want the most affordable path to a more fun Civic Hatchback, this is the one to focus on.
• EX-L: This trim is the step up if you want the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and a more upscale interior, but you’re fine giving up the manual transmission. It also brings more equipment than the lower trims.
• Sport Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with the larger digital display, larger touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, premium audio, and the most complete convenience and safety feature set. It’s the right pick if you want the most polished Civic Hatchback experience.

Blind-spot warning is reserved for the more expensive EX-L and Sport Touring trims, and rear cross-traffic alert plus front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are exclusive to Sport Touring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it’s a good time to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,214 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,444, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $25,572 sits slightly below last year's $25,683.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable rather than volatile. For a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern can be helpful because it points to predictable demand instead of a sharp drop in value.

The year-round range is also fairly tight, which supports the idea that this model year has held its footing well in the used market. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you should have a reasonable path to resale later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback earns Good ratings in nearly all IIHS assessments, with an Acceptable result in the updated side-impact test. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives it an overall five-star crashworthiness rating, and it also earned a five-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every Civic Hatchback, and it includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and low-speed follow capability with the CVT, automatic high-beam headlights, driver monitoring, and traffic sign recognition.

The main safety caveat is that blind-spot warning is limited to the more expensive EX-L and Sport Touring trims, while rear cross-traffic alert and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are only on Sport Touring. The adaptive cruise control can also respond a bit slowly in some traffic situations.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The hatchback adds significant utility and an available manual transmission, while the available turbocharged engine makes it especially engaging to drive.

The bottom line: If you want the Civic Hatchback’s best mix of utility, driving enjoyment, and safety, the 2024 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully within this year’s market and focus on lower-priced listings near the bottom of the range.
