Is the 2024 Genesis G70 a good car?

The 2024 Genesis G70 earns an 8.7/10 expert rating, and the overall package is strongest if you want a compact sport-luxury sedan that emphasizes driving enjoyment, strong powertrain choices, and standard safety tech. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

The trade-offs are clear: the cabin is a bit snug, the trunk is smaller than some rivals, and limited interior storage can make daily use less convenient. Even so, the G70’s sharp handling, excellent build quality, and multiple powertrain options make it a compelling fit if you value performance and standard equipment over maximum space.

With 34.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is presented as a well-built compact luxury sedan with excellent build quality and a strong warranty package, which supports confidence for used buyers. Its powertrain lineup is described as robust, and the car’s standard safety tech adds to its long-term appeal.

The performance notes point to a dynamic chassis, strong braking, and powertrains that provide plenty of passing and merging power. On the ownership side, Genesis includes free scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, which helps reduce early running costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a smaller luxury sedan with advanced equipment can be more expensive to keep in top shape if prior maintenance was skipped.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis G70?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the cabin, cargo area, and electronics, since the G70 is known for being a bit snug and for having limited interior storage. It’s also smart to confirm that the features you want are actually present, especially if you’re comparing trims.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin emphasizes attractive design, excellent build quality, and top-notch materials, but the base setup does not include wireless smartphone mirroring.
• Powertrain: The base engine is a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, and an available 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 makes 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic and are offered with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane following assist. Available upgrades include a blind view monitor, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning.
• Infotainment: Every G70 gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus over-the-air updates. Wireless phone mirroring is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter engine returns 24 mpg combined in rear-wheel drive and 23 mpg combined with all-wheel drive. The 3.3-liter engine returns 21 mpg combined in rear-wheel drive and 20 mpg combined with all-wheel drive.

Which 2024 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is offered in 2 trim levels: Advanced and Sport Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the best-value choice if you want the least-expensive way into the G70 and still want the new 2.5-liter engine, strong handling, and the car’s standard safety and tech features.
• Sport Prestige: This is the better pick if you want the more powerful 3.3-liter V6 and are willing to pay more for the extra performance and added equipment.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, with Highway Driving Assist and the core driver aids standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,056 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,032, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $32,121 sits slightly below last year's $34,823.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. If you plan to resell later, the current pricing trend means your future value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. A well-kept G70 with the right equipment should hold up better than one with visible wear or missing service records.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2024 Genesis G70 earns Good ratings from IIHS in crashworthiness and crash avoidance and mitigation, and it has not received an overall, frontal, side impact, or rollover crash rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and Highway Driving Assist, which blends adaptive cruise control with lane following assist. Available features include a blind view monitor, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning.

One caveat is the Marginal child-restraint result, tied to lower LATCH anchors that are too deep in the rear seats and harder to access.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.76% compared with last year.
• A new, more powerful base engine arrives this year, and the car pairs that with excellent handling and strong safety tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,696, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $32,121 average.
• It offers a polished, well-rounded compact luxury-sedan package with strong style and performance.

The bottom line: choose the 2024 if you want the stronger value story, updated powertrain, and current-year safety and tech appeal. If you’re price-sensitive and want to save upfront, the 2023 is still a smart alternative.
