Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2024 Sierra 3500HD stands out as a heavy-duty truck that blends serious work capability with a more polished, feature-rich personality, and it adds a refreshed front end, a larger infotainment screen, and expanded trailering tech for this model year. It also gives you a wide spread of cab, bed, axle, and trim choices, so you can shop for a truck that fits work, towing, or upscale daily use. With 33.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Sierra 3500HD is presented as a truck built around capability and flexibility, with a broad range of configurations and a focus on towing and hauling. Its updated trailering technology and upscale trim availability suggest a model designed to handle demanding use while still offering more comfort and convenience than a bare-bones work truck. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about everyday commuting and more about whether the truck was used hard for towing, hauling, or commercial-style duty.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report so you can confirm how the truck was used and whether it has any hidden damage or title issues. Put inspection priority on the drivetrain, towing-related hardware, and the condition of the cabin and bed, since heavy-duty trucks are often bought for demanding work. Focus on overall wear and maintenance evidence, especially if the truck was used for frequent hauling or trailering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,358 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $65,919, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $65,922 sits slightly below last year's $72,159.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also mean future resale gains are harder to count on in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the truck's value will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it was maintained. Trucks with strong demand and clean histories tend to hold buyer interest better when the market softens.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the newer truck with updated styling, more tech, and a strong satisfaction signal, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby older year may be worth a look, especially if you can find a cleaner example with the right equipment at a lower asking price.
