Ford’s heavy-duty trucks are just as impressive as its “normal” trucks, which it sells by the millions each year. The F-350 sits in the middle of the company's HD truck line, between the entry-level F-250 and the harder-core F-450, and it can be outfitted with dual rear wheels in some configurations. ## What’s New for the 2024 Ford F-350 Super Duty The Ford F-350 got a handful of substantive updates for 2024, including standard navigation for the XLT trim with Premium Package, sensors to detect payload and trailer tongue weight, and a new flex fuel feature for the base V8. ## Design While the F-350 has some styling elements in common with the light-duty F-150, its look is notably more muscular. Exterior finishes vary by trim level: Entry-level models sport plenty of black plastics, and the higher trims add acres of chrome, but Ford steers clear of gaudy graphics packages, for the most part. The F-350 is available with a regular cab, a super cab, or a crew cab body style, with the crew cab being the largest. Ford also offers the F-350 with dual rear wheels for more towing power. ## Powertrain Four powertrain options are on deck for the 2024 Super Duty trucks. The base engine is a 6.8-liter V8 making 400 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. The upgraded gas engine is a 7.3-liter mill making 430 horsepower and 485 pound-feet of torque. Two 6.7-liter diesels are available, including the standard-output engine with 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque and the high-output version, which makes 500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed transmission comes standard with all models, and four-wheel drive (4WD) is available. ## Interior Depending on the configuration, the 2024 F-350 can seat three or six people, though the super and crew cab models are more comfortable with four or five people in tow. The base trim gets vinyl upholstery, while higher trims get cloth or leather, and the top configurations add high-end finishes throughout. ## Technology The F-350 comes standard with an 8-inch display, and higher configurations get a 12-inch touchscreen. Ford Sync comes with both units, offering an intuitive, less-distracting way to interact with the truck. Menus are clearly labeled and easy to navigate, and the system is responsive to user inputs. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with Bluetooth, SiriusXM radio, and USB inputs. ## Safety Ford offers a few advanced driver aids with the 2024 F-350. Available tech includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and more. Heavy-duty trucks don’t get crash-tested to the same degree that everyday passenger cars do, so the truck hasn’t received full crash-test data yet. ## Pricing The base 2024 Ford F-350 is expected to start at around $47,000 after destination and taxes. The top Limited model will crest $100,000 with options and add-ons, as its starting price will likely land at around $99,000.
