Used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 for Sale near Oregon

How much does the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 11.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 13,899 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful engine, comfortable and spacious interior, and well-equipped features. The design and luxury touches also come up often as strengths, especially if you want a truck that feels more upscale than purely utilitarian.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the truck is described as poor value for money, and not all advanced safety features are standard. That makes it a better fit if you want a full-size pickup that can serve as a work vehicle, an off-roader, or a long-distance cruiser, rather than if you’re shopping strictly on price.

With 36.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that feels powerful, comfortable, and well equipped, with several mentions of its strong design and luxury appeal. That kind of praise usually lines up with a vehicle that owners feel good about living with over time.

The expert review also describes the diesel powertrain as smooth, linear, and well suited to a big truck, which supports the impression of dependable everyday drivability. On the ownership side, the warranty coverage includes a three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some owners have reported infotainment and emissions-related frustrations, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage truck or one with more complex equipment. Focus on how the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and powertrain have held up, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day ownership satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from Pro to Denali Ultimate, with the base Pro aimed at commercial fleets and the higher trims adding more luxury and off-road capability. The Pro is the most stripped-down version, while Denali and Denali Ultimate bring the upscale features that make the Sierra feel more premium.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, two V8s, or a 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel. The diesel stands out for its strong torque and fuel economy, while the gasoline engines trade efficiency for more traditional truck power.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, park assist, and GM’s Safety Alert driver’s seat are optional, so lower trims leave some desirable safety tech off the standard list.
• Infotainment: Base Pro models get a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SLE and higher trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google Built-In.
• Fuel efficiency: The Duramax diesel is EPA-rated at 25 mpg combined with RWD and 24 mpg combined with 4WD. The TurboMax four-cylinder can reach 20 mpg combined in some configurations, while the V8s return a few mpg less.

Which 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Pro: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes sense if you want the Sierra’s core capability at the lowest entry price. It’s also the trim where you’ll feel the biggest equipment gap, especially in infotainment and luxury features.
• SLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the larger 13.4-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. If you want the Sierra to feel modern without jumping deep into luxury pricing, this is the smart middle ground.
• Elevation: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look than the Pro or SLE without moving all the way into premium territory. It’s a style-forward step up that still keeps the truck broadly usable.
• SLT: This is the trim to target if you want a more upscale daily driver with a stronger mix of comfort and equipment. It’s a good fit if you want more refinement without paying Denali money.
• AT4: This is the off-road-oriented choice, with a 2-inch lift, Rancho monotube shocks, a locking rear differential, and skid plates. It’s the right pick if you want trail capability baked in from the factory.
• AT4X: This is the more serious off-road version, adding a front locker and more sophisticated Multimatic DSSV dampers. It suits buyers who want the most rugged hardware in the lineup.
• Denali: This is the luxury trim that defines the Sierra’s upscale personality, with chrome-heavy styling and available convenience features that make it feel more premium. It’s the right choice if comfort and presentation matter most.
• Denali Ultimate: This is the top luxury pick, and it’s the one to buy if you want the most comfort, the richest feature set, and the strongest long-distance cruiser vibe. It’s the most complete expression of the Sierra’s upscale mission.

Denali and Denali Ultimate can also be equipped with Super Cruise, which is one of the standout safety and convenience upgrades in the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 13,899 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $46,567, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500's resale value?

The current average of $46,567 sits slightly below last year's $52,718.

That decline suggests the truck has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you’re buying now and planning to sell later. A lower entry price can reduce the amount of value you stand to lose over your ownership period.

The Sierra’s broad appeal also helps support future demand, especially because it can serve as a work truck, luxury truck, or off-road truck depending on trim. If you buy the right configuration and keep it in good condition, that versatility should help it remain attractive on the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 safe?

The 2024 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab received a Good score in the driver-side small overlap front crash test, a Marginal score in the passenger-side version, Good scores in the original moderate overlap front and side crash tests, and an Acceptable score in the updated side crash test. Crew cab models also received a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings for side-crash protection and four-star ratings in rollover and frontal crash testing.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Sierra comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, park assist, and GM’s Safety Alert driver’s seat are optional, so you’ll want to check carefully if you’re shopping a lower trim.

Super Cruise is available on Denali and Denali Ultimate models, and it remains one of the strongest hands-free driver-assistance systems in the segment. That said, the mixed IIHS results mean you should pay attention to crash-test performance as well as equipment lists.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers multiple powertrain options, easy-to-use technology, and a fuel-efficient diesel engine.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $43,758, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $46,567 average.
• It emphasizes luxury, cabin space, and a lively diesel engine.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing momentum, and feature breadth, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers much of the Sierra’s upscale appeal.
