Used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 for Sale nearGrand Forks, ND

How much does the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 10.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,702 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 earns a 4.64/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the powerful engine choices, comfortable and spacious interior, and well-equipped features. The design and luxury touches also stand out, especially if you want a truck that feels more upscale than basic work-focused rivals.

The main trade-offs are that not all advanced safety features are standard, and value for money is a weak point. That matters most if you want maximum equipment for the money rather than a more premium-feeling truck.

If you want a full-size pickup that can serve as a work vehicle, an off-roader, or a long-distance cruiser, this one fits that brief well. Good and great deals account for 36.5% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as powerful, comfortable, and well-equipped, with several comments pointing to a dependable-feeling ownership experience. The expert evaluation also highlights smooth power delivery and a well-mannered transmission, which supports the impression of a truck that should feel easy to live with over time.

The diesel engine is especially appealing if you want strong torque with everyday drivability, and the warranty coverage includes a five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that some trucks may have infotainment or emissions-related concerns, so a careful test drive and history check matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

Even with a strong share of clean listings, you should still run a history report and verify service records before you buy. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on higher-trim trucks, where more equipment means more systems to check. Focus on how the truck drives, how the infotainment behaves, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Pro models are aimed at fleets and are the most basic, while Denali and Denali Ultimate focus on luxury and AT4 and AT4X focus on off-road capability. Base trucks are much simpler inside, and higher trims add the comfort and convenience features that make the Sierra feel more premium.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder, 5.3-liter V8, 6.2-liter V8, or 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel. The diesel stands out for its torque and fuel economy, while the V8s bring stronger traditional truck power.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, park assist, and Super Cruise are optional or trim-dependent.
• Infotainment: Pro models get a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SLE and higher trims add a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google Built-In.
• Fuel efficiency: The Duramax diesel is EPA-rated at 25 mpg combined with RWD and 24 mpg combined with 4WD. The TurboMax four-cylinder can reach 20 mpg combined in some configurations, while the V8s are a few mpg lower.

Which 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Pro: This is the fleet-focused starting point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live with the most basic equipment. It gets the 7-inch touchscreen with wired smartphone connectivity, but it is clearly the least upscale choice.
• SLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the 13.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google Built-In. If you want the Sierra’s modern tech without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the sweet spot.
• Elevation: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and a step up in presence without going all the way to luxury pricing. It builds on the SLE’s tech foundation while moving the truck further away from the work-truck feel.
• SLT: This is the right move if you want a more upscale daily driver with more comfort and convenience. It suits buyers who care about a richer cabin and more premium-feeling equipment.
• AT4: Pick this if you want the off-road setup, including the 2-inch lift, Rancho monotube shocks, locking rear differential, and skid plates. It also gets the Duramax diesel as standard for 2024, which makes it especially appealing if you want torque and trail capability together.
• AT4X: This is the more serious off-road choice, adding a front locker and more sophisticated Multimatic DSSV dampers. It is the one to choose if you want the most capable dirt-focused Sierra short of the special edition.
• Denali: This is the luxury trim for buyers who want the classic Denali look and a more premium cabin. It adds the chrome-heavy upscale presentation and suits you if comfort and image matter more than ruggedness.
• Denali Ultimate: This is the top luxury choice, and it is the one to buy if you want the most fully equipped Sierra 1500. The test truck’s heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, heated rear seats, power sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control show the level of comfort this trim can deliver.

Safety-package note: Super Cruise is available on Denali and Denali Ultimate, while several other driver-assistance features remain optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 1500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,702 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,462, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500's resale value?

The current average of $47,462 sits slightly below last year's $53,313.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale if you buy at the right number. If you pay close to the current market average, your downside is more limited than it was a year ago.

The Sierra’s broad appeal also helps, because buyers can shop it as a work truck, a luxury-leaning pickup, or an off-road model. Trucks with strong feature content and a premium reputation often hold attention better than stripped-down alternatives.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 safe?

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab received a “Good” score in the IIHS driver-side small overlap front crash test, but a “Marginal” score in the passenger-side version. It also received “Good” scores in the IIHS original moderate overlap front and side crash tests, and an “Acceptable” score in the updated side crash test. Crew cab models received a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, along with five stars for side-crash protection and four stars in rollover and frontal crash testing.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance suite includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and park assist are optional, and Super Cruise is available on Denali and Denali Ultimate.

The mixed IIHS results are the main caveat here, especially the passenger-side small overlap and updated side-crash scores. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim and option content rather than assuming every Sierra 1500 is equally equipped.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers broad configuration flexibility, from work truck to luxury cruiser to off-road model.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $44,495, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $47,462 average.
• It emphasizes upscale luxury and a strong mix of cabin space, diesel power, and versatile features.

The bottom line: If you want the broader current-year market, stronger deal availability, and the latest configuration mix, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2023 is the smarter path for price-sensitive buyers who still want a luxury-leaning Sierra.
