Used 2024 Ford Ranger for Sale nearPittsburgh, PA

How much does the 2024 Ford Ranger cost?

Prices have softened 6.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,189 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Ranger earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

That lines up with the Ranger’s broader appeal as a midsize pickup that brings more power, tech, refinement, space, and choice than before. It stands out for multiple powertrain options, great handling, and a quiet cabin, which makes it a strong fit if you want a truck that feels more polished on the road than many rivals.

The trade-offs are real, though: interior materials feel cheap, the touchscreen response is sluggish, and advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, the added capability and broader lineup make it a compelling choice if you want a midsize truck with more versatility and a more modern feel.

35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Ranger’s overall package points to solid day-to-day dependability, especially if you value a truck that balances capability with a quiet, comfortable ride. Its standard 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder and optional 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 both use regular fuel, and the truck’s smooth acceleration and secure handling support an easy ownership experience.

The performance notes also point to a truck that’s built to do real work without feeling strained in normal use. If you choose the right configuration for your needs, long-term ownership risk should stay manageable, though higher-spec versions can bring more complexity and cost.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and inspect any candidate closely, especially if it has been used for towing, off-road driving, or heavy daily work. Pay extra attention to cabin wear, touchscreen responsiveness, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the trim level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is the most stripped-down version, and it does not come with driver assists. The XLT adds more everyday convenience and is a better starting point if you want a more complete truck without jumping to the highest trims.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 2.3-liter turbo inline-four with 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, plus an optional 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 with 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet for stronger towing. The Raptor uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet.
• Safety package: The XLT and above trims include forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.
• Infotainment: A 10-inch portrait touchscreen is standard on the XL, while a 12-inch screen comes on all other trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, and the menus are slow to load.
• Fuel efficiency: The base four-cylinder returns an EPA-estimated 20 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined with 4WD, while the V6 is rated at 19/23/20.

Which 2024 Ford Ranger trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Ranger is offered in 4 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point, but it is the most bare-bones version and lacks driver assists, so it makes sense mainly if you want the lowest starting price and can live with a simpler setup.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the key safety equipment and gives you a more complete everyday truck without pushing you into luxury pricing.
• Lariat: This trim adds more upscale tech, including the wider instrument panel, push-button start, automatic parking, and trailer-reversing assistance, so it suits you if you want a more premium-feeling Ranger.
• Raptor: This is the performance-focused choice, with the most serious engine and off-road hardware, so it is the one to choose if you want the most capability and the most aggressive setup.

The safety package starts on the XLT, so if you want driver-assistance features, avoid the XL.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Ranger?

The market looks moderately favorable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,189 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.74% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,923, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Ranger's resale value?

The current average of $38,925 sits slightly below last year's $41,739.

That price movement suggests the Ranger has softened enough to create a better buying window now, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays loose. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in strong condition, you should be in a better position to limit depreciation losses later.

The Ranger’s broad appeal as a capable midsize truck helps support demand, especially for well-equipped trims and clean examples. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Ranger safe?

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The base XL trim does not come with any driver assists, but the XLT and above trims have standard forward and reverse emergency braking, auto high beams, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, front cross-traffic braking, and evasive steering assist. Adaptive cruise control is optional on the XLT and standard on Lariat and Raptor.

That means you should pay close attention to trim level if safety tech matters to you. The Ranger’s safety story is strongest once you move above the base model, so a used example with the right equipment is the smarter buy.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Ranger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• For 2024, the Ranger brings more of everything — power, tech, refinement, space, and choice — and the verdict highlights new V6 engines and a Raptor trim.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Ranger with the broadest mix of power, tech, and trim choice, the 2024 model is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 gives you the most complete version of this truck’s updated formula.
