The hood scoop features CHEVROLET lettering, and the truck is available in six new colors. ## Powertrain Chevy offers two powertrain choices for the 3500HD. The base engine is a 6.6-liter gas V8 that makes 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can upgrade to a Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 that produces 470 horsepower and a whopping 975 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive (4WD) is available. ## Interior The Silverado 3500HD’s cabin is still undeniably utilitarian, but Chevy updated the space with nicer materials and more tech. The LT, LTZ, and High Country trims get a new dash and gauge cluster. The screens are angled toward the driver for better visibility and ergonomics, and Chevy said the setup feels more like a “command center.” A new flow-through center console affords better space and storage without cutting into seating space, and the redesigned cupholders can hold larger beverages. Shockingly, there are 10 total cupholders in the five-seat truck. ## Technology Every Colorado comes with an 11.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Google Built-In is available for a subscription fee, bringing connected navigation, streaming music, and more. Chevrolet’s infotainment software is straightforward and easy to navigate while driving. It’s colorful and responsive, and menus are clearly labeled, making it less distracting than many rival systems. ## Safety Chevy offers several advanced driver aids, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and more. Heavy-duty and commercial trucks aren’t crash-tested like normal consumer vehicles, but the available safety tech adds peace of mind and an extra layer of protection. ## Pricing Pricing for the 2024 Silverado 3500 starts at $46,395 before destination and taxes. Stepping up to the optional diesel engine drives the price up by a massive $10,615. With options, it’s possible to push the price to almost $100,000.
