Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 7.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,933 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and configurations.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Generally — with a 4.33/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating, this truck lands in strong territory for shoppers who want heavy-duty capability with modern convenience. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners most often praise its strong performance, ride quality, and appearance, and they also like the range of options available. The main trade-off is that many feel it is overpriced, and some wish it offered more advanced features and technology.

That lines up with the truck’s role as a heavy-duty pickup that can handle rougher terrain while still adding everyday convenience through wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In the market, 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels strong, dependable, and worth counting on for serious use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Silverado 2500HD is a tough truck to beat thanks to its on-road manners and upgraded technology, which supports the case for long-term confidence.

Chevrolet also backs it with a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-mileage heavy-duty trucks can be expensive to keep up if they’ve been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy use, and whether the equipment on the truck matches the way you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from Work Truck to Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country, and the off-road-specific ZR2. The base work truck is plain but still handsome, while higher trims add more upscale styling and materials; the High Country stands out for its leather, open-pore wood, metal trim, and upscale interior details.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.6-liter V8 gas engine with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, plus an available 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 with 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both pair with an Allison 10-speed automatic, and the diesel is described as remarkably quiet and well-matched to the transmission.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even the top trim, so check whether a used truck has it if that matters to you.
• Infotainment: Starting on the LT trim, you get a 12.3-inch configurable gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with Google built-in, Amazon Alexa, and plenty of USB-A and USB-C ports.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel test truck returned 20.3 miles per gallon in 2WD over about 100 miles, and the truck computer showed 17 mpg over a mixed 2WD and Auto 4WD drive.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is offered in 6 trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck: This is the most basic choice, and it makes sense if you want a straightforward heavy-duty truck for work use and care most about keeping the price down.
• Custom: This trim adds a body-colored grille bar and a little more visual polish, so it is a better fit if you want a step up from the bare-bones truck without going too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the bigger 12.3-inch gauge cluster and 13.4-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• LTZ: This trim adds more chrome and a more upscale look, making it a good fit if you want a more premium-feeling truck without jumping all the way to the top.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the richest interior materials and the most upscale presentation.
• ZR2: This is the off-road-specific trim, and it is the one to choose if rough terrain is a priority; the content highlights its serious off-road hardware and capability.

Standard safety equipment is limited compared with some rivals, and adaptive cruise control remains optional across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,933 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,767, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $54,767 sits slightly below last year's $58,922.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, which can make future resale a little more competitive for sellers. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong demand for well-kept heavy-duty trucks can still help support value, especially for desirable trims and clean examples.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Silverado 2500HD does not yet have NHTSA or IIHS crash-test ratings listed here, so there is no crash-test lead to cite. Standard safety equipment includes front pedestrian braking, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator.

GM’s Safety Seat is a notable extra on the test truck, and it is designed to alert you if traffic slows suddenly while you are looking away. Adaptive cruise control is optional on all trims, even the top High Country, and GM says it can work while towing a trailer. The main caveat is that not all advanced safety features are standard, so you should verify the exact equipment on any used truck you are considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• This year’s refresh brings better styling and a new off-road trim, helping it move closer to its top rival.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, broad inventory, and the refreshed styling and off-road capability that define this model year, the 2024 is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and look for a lower-priced listing near the bottom of the range, but the 2024 makes the most sense when you want the newer updates without paying full new-truck money.
