Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearMidland, TX

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 8.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 20,415 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy set of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is built to cover a wide range of truck duties without feeling overly specialized, so you can use it for worksite gear, weekend projects, and everyday family hauling. It offers multiple powertrain options, three cab sizes, and easy-to-use technology, while also giving you the most bed tie-downs in the class.

The trade-offs are clear: it does not tow or haul quite as much as a Ford F-150, and there is no electrified version for sale for now. Even so, the available diesel engine and Super Cruise hands-free driving assist on the top trim help broaden its appeal.

36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Silverado’s broad capability and practical design support confidence for daily use, and the available diesel powertrain adds another layer of versatility. The expert review also notes that the truck’s technology is easy to use and that the ZR2 trim brings serious off-road capability.

The diesel engine pulls strong off the line, and the 10-speed automatic does its job smoothly in the background. The first scheduled maintenance visit is complimentary, which helps lower early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a truck that has been worked hard without the right maintenance history or condition checks.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has towing, off-road, or heavy work use in its past. Focus on wear items, cabin condition, and signs that the truck’s equipment has been used hard rather than just driven a lot.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base work truck trim comes with 17-inch steel wheels, while higher trims add more upscale exterior and interior touches, including leather and open-pore wood trim. The cabin gets more refined as you move up, so base-trim buyers should pay close attention to feature gaps.
• Powertrain: You can choose from four engine choices, including a turbocharged four-cylinder, two V8s, and a 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel. The diesel is the torque-rich option, while the ZR2’s hardware is aimed at dirt use.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Teen Driver is also included, while adaptive cruise control, the 360-degree camera, parking sensors, and Super Cruise are available on higher trims.
• Infotainment: The bottom trims get a seven-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto. LT and above upgrade to a 13.4-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The tester returned 20 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The best figure cited is 29 mpg on the highway in a two-wheel-drive diesel, while the worst is 14 mpg in the city in a ZR2 with the 6.2-liter V8.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 9 trim levels: Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck (WT): This is the most basic path into the Silverado lineup, and it makes sense if you want the truck’s core utility without paying for extra comfort or tech. It’s the trim where you should be most alert to feature gaps, since the cabin and equipment list are intentionally simple.
• Custom: This trim adds a little more everyday appeal while staying on the value side of the lineup. It’s a sensible choice if you want a step up from the WT without jumping too far in price.
• Custom Trail Boss: Choose this if you want a more rugged personality and off-road flavor without going all the way to the top of the range. It suits buyers who want a truck that looks and feels more adventurous.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks the larger 13.4-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. If you want the Silverado’s tech to feel fully modern, this is the trim to target.
• RST: This is a good fit if you want a more style-forward truck with a mainstream feature set. It sits in the middle of the lineup and should appeal to buyers who care about appearance as much as utility.
• LT Trail Boss: Pick this if you want stronger off-road intent than the standard LT while keeping a more upscale feature mix than the lower trims. It’s for buyers who want capability without going all the way to the ZR2.
• LTZ: This trim moves the Silverado into more premium territory, with the kind of comfort and finish that make daily driving easier to live with. It’s a strong choice if you want a more refined truck without stepping to the top badge.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, and it’s also the trim where Super Cruise is available. If you want the most advanced convenience and driver-assist content, this is the one to watch.
• ZR2: This is the off-road specialist, with a two-inch lift, front and rear differential lockers, and Multimatic shocks. It’s the right pick if dirt performance matters more to you than maximum on-road polish.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, while Super Cruise is reserved for the High Country trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 20,415 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,413, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $40,413 sits slightly below last year's $44,175.

That decline suggests the market has become a little more favorable for buyers, which can make it harder for future sellers to command top dollar immediately. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer pricing, but resale gains could be more gradual if the market stays competitive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns five-star overall and side crash ratings from NHTSA, and four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Silverado gets Chevy Safety Assist standard with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Teen Driver is also standard, and you can add a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise on the High Country trim.

The main caveat is the mixed crash-test picture from IIHS, where the truck scored poorly in several areas, including front crashes and headlamps. That means you should pay close attention to the safety equipment on the specific truck you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 brings available Super Cruise on the High Country trim and ZR2 off-road capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,290, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $40,413 average.
• It blends smart technology with stout available off-road equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing momentum, and year-specific features, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the smarter path to a lower purchase price.
