Used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearAmarillo, TX

How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 8.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,696 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

It stands out as a full-size pickup that aims to cover a wide range of truck duties without losing sight of value. You get multiple powertrain options, an easy-to-use technology setup, and the most bed tie-downs in the class, plus three cab sizes that let you tailor it for hauling people, cargo, or both.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not the class leader for towing and hauling, and there is no electrified version for sale for now. Even so, 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests you can shop with some leverage.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Silverado’s broad setup and available diesel engine point to a truck built for varied use, and the expert review highlights its versatility across work, family, and daily-driving duties. The available Duramax diesel pulls strong off the line, and the 10-speed automatic does its job smoothly in the background.

The first scheduled maintenance visit is complimentary, which helps soften early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a truck used hard for towing, hauling, or off-road driving may show wear faster than a lighter-duty example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck that may have been used for towing or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy use, and whether the equipment on the truck matches how you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base work-truck trim uses 17-inch steel wheels, while higher trims add more upscale touches like larger wheels, leather, and open-pore wood trim. The cabin gets more refined as you move up the lineup.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a turbocharged four-cylinder, two V8s, or a 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel. The diesel is the torque-rich option, while the ZR2’s setup is tuned for dirt use.
• Safety package: Every Silverado gets Chevy Safety Assist with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Chevy’s Teen Driver program is also standard, while adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, and Super Cruise are available on higher trims.
• Infotainment: The bottom trims get a seven-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. LT and above upgrade to a 13.4-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel can return up to 29 mpg on the highway in 2WD form, while the tester posted 20 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 9 trim levels: Work Truck (WT), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck (WT): This is the most basic starting point, and it makes sense if you want a straightforward truck for job-site duty. It gets the essentials, but you give up the richer cabin materials and larger screens found higher up.
• Custom: This is a sensible step up if you want a little more everyday appeal without jumping too far in price. It keeps the Silverado’s practical core while adding some extra polish over the WT.
• Custom Trail Boss: Choose this if you want a more rugged look and off-road leaning setup without going all the way to the top of the range. It suits buyers who want capability with a tougher stance.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it unlocks the larger 13.4-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. If you want the Silverado to feel modern inside, this is the trim to target.
• RST: Pick this if you want a more style-focused truck with a sportier appearance. It builds on the LT’s tech-friendly foundation.
• LT Trail Boss: This is the better choice if you want a more serious off-road setup than the Custom Trail Boss. It’s aimed at buyers who want extra dirt-road capability.
• LTZ: This is where the Silverado starts to feel more upscale, with more premium cabin touches and available comfort features. It suits buyers who want a nicer daily driver.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice, and it’s also the trim where Super Cruise is available. If you want the most advanced highway-driving tech, this is the one to watch.
• ZR2: This is the trim to buy if off-road capability is your priority. It comes with a two-inch lift, front and rear differential lockers, and Multimatic shocks, making it the most specialized choice in the lineup.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, while Super Cruise is reserved for the High Country trim.

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,696 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,645, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $40,645 sits slightly below last year's $44,417.

That decline suggests the market has cooled enough to create better buying opportunities now, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if prices continue to drift downward. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to limit depreciation losses later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns five-star overall and side crash ratings from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crashes and rollovers.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Silverado gets Chevy Safety Assist standard with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a following distance indicator. Chevy’s Teen Driver program is also standard, while adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and Super Cruise are available on higher trims.

The main caveat is that the IIHS results are mixed, with weaker scores in some crashworthiness and headlamp tests. That means you should pay close attention to the safety equipment on the specific truck you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 stands out for its available diesel engine, Super Cruise on the top trim, and broad trim range.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,526, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $40,645 average.
• It adds power upgrades for the optional Duramax diesel engine.

The bottom line: If you want the broader current-market selection and the strongest mix of features, the 2024 is the better target. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the smarter value play.
