New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearAmarillo, TX

How much does the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 10.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,334 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for you to compare trims and prices.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns an expert rating of 5.3/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

Chevrolet gives you a truck that can be configured for almost any need, and the cabin space is a real advantage if you want a full-size pickup that can double as a daily driver. The available diesel engine option also broadens its appeal, especially if you value flexibility in powertrain choice.

The trade-offs are real, though: fuel economy is poor, blind-spot warning is not standard, and the truck’s performance and towing technology fall short of the class leaders. Even so, the Silverado’s breadth of configuration and strong in-cab tech make it easier to recommend if you prioritize variety and space over polish.

There are 36.1% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is positioned as a broad-appeal full-size pickup, but its expert assessment points to weaknesses in performance, fuel economy, safety, and towing technology.

The available Duramax turbodiesel is the efficiency standout, and Chevrolet’s first scheduled maintenance visit is included, which helps a little with early ownership costs. The truck’s value case is also helped by its wide configuration range and available diesel power.

Still, the expert review makes clear that this is not a class leader for long-term confidence, especially if you plan to tow often or want a truck that feels fully sorted in everyday use. For used buyers, that means you should be especially careful about condition, maintenance history, and how the truck was equipped.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the truck has been maintained on schedule, especially if it was used for towing or heavy work. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on braking behavior, suspension condition, and any signs that the truck was worked hard. Pay close attention to cabin wear and feature operation, since the Silverado’s appeal depends heavily on how well its tech and comfort equipment still function.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans work-truck simplicity to high-end luxury, and the base trims are much more basic than the upper trims. You should expect the cheaper versions to miss some of the nicer cabin materials and visual polish that make the better-equipped trucks feel more modern.
• Powertrain: You can find turbocharged four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel six-cylinder, and V8 options. The TurboMax four-cylinder is strong enough for daily driving, but the Duramax diesel is the efficiency and towing standout if you want better fuel economy and more capability.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are not standard.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a 12.3-inch digital display and a 13.4-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto. The system is a major strength if you want modern tech and easy smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The TurboMax is rated at 18 mpg in combined driving, while the Duramax turbodiesel is rated at 23-24 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 9 trim levels: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, LT Trail Boss, RST, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the most basic path into the Silverado lineup, so it makes sense if you want a work-focused truck and do not need the nicer cabin and tech upgrades found higher up.
• Custom: This trim adds a little more everyday usability while staying on the affordable side, but it still sits close to the entry-level end of the range.
• Custom Trail Boss: This is the better choice if you want a more rugged-looking truck with a dirt-ready attitude, though it is still not the most polished option.
• LT: This is the trim where the Silverado starts to feel more balanced for everyday use, with a better mix of comfort and equipment than the lower trims.
• LT Trail Boss: Choose this if you want a more capable-looking, more adventurous version of the LT without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• RST: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it combines the stronger cabin presentation and modern tech with a more appealing overall value equation.
• LTZ: Move here if you want a more upscale feel and more comfort-oriented equipment.
• High Country: This is the luxury-leaning choice for buyers who want the most premium Silverado experience.
• ZR2: Pick this if you want the most specialized, off-road-oriented version in the lineup.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitors and several other common driver-assistance features are not standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,334 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,245, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $47,245 sits slightly below last year's $52,872.

That price drop suggests the Silverado has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and whether the truck has desirable equipment like the diesel engine or stronger tech features. Trucks that are well kept and sensibly equipped should hold up better than basic or heavily worked examples.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a Marginal rating in the small overlap front evaluation, a Poor rating in the updated moderate overlap frontal impact test, and an Acceptable rating in the updated side impact test from IIHS.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on every Silverado 1500 trim level, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The truck also includes a rear-seat reminder, Buckle to Drive, and Teen Driver technology.

Even so, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are not standard, and the IIHS results are a clear caution flag. If safety is a top priority, you should be especially careful about trim and equipment selection.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.64% compared with last year.
• The 2026 stands out for its breadth of capability, available diesel engine, and strong in-cab technology.

The bottom line: If you want the broadest mix of configurations and the strongest current market leverage, the 2026 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive and want to stretch your budget further, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2026 gives you a compelling combination of softened pricing and strong inventory.
