CarGurus Analysis: 2024 BMW X7
Summary
With 1,559 currently listed for sale and an average price of $60,716, 36.6% of 2024 BMW X7 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 BMW X7 4.8 / 5 stars.
90.5% of 2024 BMW X7 listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2024 BMW X7 stands out as BMW’s full-size, three-row flagship SUV, offering buyers a more luxurious and spacious alternative to the brand’s smaller SUVs. It is built on the same CLAR platform as the X5, but it is only available with all-wheel drive, and its nearly foot-longer body helps make the rear seats more usable while also adding cargo space. The standard second-row bench can also be replaced with captain’s chairs, giving the X7 a flexibility that suits families who want a premium cabin without giving up seating capacity.
For 2024, one of the X7’s biggest draws is its long list of standard and available equipment. The entry-level model includes self-leveling air suspension, four-zone climate control, Sensafin synthetic leather upholstery, adaptive LED headlights, BMW’s iDrive infotainment and connectivity system, and an active kidney grille. Safety and convenience features are also plentiful, with blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear collision warning, wireless charging, a heated third-row seat, and adaptive cruise control with a hands-free option. Buyers looking for more luxury can find upgrades such as heated-and-cooled cup holders, gesture control, massaging seats, a panoramic sunroof, LED light patterns, and laser headlights.
The 2024 model also benefits from BMW’s 2023 facelift, which brought a heavily revised front end with horizontally split headlights and a new instrument cluster and infotainment screen under a single piece of glass across the dash. Its powertrain lineup includes a 335-horsepower 3.0-liter inline-six in the xDrive40i and a 523-hp 4.4-liter V8 in the M60i, both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. That combination of strong performance, a quiet and comfortable cabin, and advanced technology makes the X7 appealing, though its relatively small third row, unintuitive technology, and polarizing design remain notable drawbacks.

its a great vehicle that does not drive like an SUV, it has a quick response and still has the space to be an awesome family vehicle. I appreciate the gas mileage and although the packages are a bit segmented, I like it overall.

This car is amazing in every way! Looks, feels, and drives luxurious. It’s only been 2 months but so far no complaints. The captains chairs has to be one of my favorite features. The backseats feel more comfortable/cozy than the front!

How much does the 2024 BMW X7 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $61,144 |
| Year-Round Low | $61,144 |
| Year-Round High | $69,106 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $69,102 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.52% |
Prices have softened 11.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,574 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.
Is the 2024 BMW X7 a good car?
Yes — the 2024 BMW X7 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise the luxurious driving experience, comfort, and advanced safety features. Many also like the stylish design and superior technology, which helps it stand out in the full-size luxury SUV segment.
Given its role as BMW’s full-size, three-row flagship SUV, it makes the most sense if you want a spacious, upscale family hauler with a premium feel. With 39.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2024 BMW X7 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with comfort and advanced safety features contributing to confidence over time. That kind of satisfaction usually matters most when you plan to keep a luxury SUV for several years.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic appeal and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X7?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the seller’s claims. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you want to confirm the condition of the suspension, electronics, and interior features.
Because this is a luxury SUV with a lot of equipment, focus on how everything works in real-world use, not just how it looks in photos. Pay close attention to signs of wear, warning lights, and any uneven operation in comfort or tech features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X7?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without rushing.
- Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,574 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.52% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $61,144, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 BMW X7's resale value?
The current average of $61,144 sits slightly below last year's $69,102.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale returns. If you buy at a strong price today, you may reduce the impact of further depreciation when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 BMW X7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.52% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $52,848, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $61,144 average.
- It offers a refreshed look and updated infotainment.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $71,410, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $61,144 average.
- It carries forward the flagship SUV formula with no major changes.
The bottom line: You should start with the 2024 if you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and available inventory. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the smarter value play, especially if you want to save several thousand dollars.
