Is the 2024 BMW X6 a good car?

The 2024 BMW X6 stands out because it keeps the model’s original coupe-like SUV formula while adding the kind of performance and equipment that make it feel more special than a conventional midsize luxury crossover. BMW describes the X6 as a fastback design based on the X5, and this generation is the most like the original in its lowered stance, aggressive body kit, huge wheels, and sleeker roofline.

For 2024, it also received updated lighting with sequential turn signals, new fascias and bumpers, new wheels, more power for the xDrive40i, and an optional Highway Assistant for hands-free driving. It is also distinctive for the breadth of its hardware and luxury features, including two 12.3-inch displays, navigation, adaptive LED headlights, blind-spot monitors, forward emergency braking, lane-departure warning, a panoramic moonroof, and heated front seats.

The tradeoff is that the X6 still prioritizes style and sportiness over practicality. Its low roofline means tighter headroom and reduced cargo space, and the buying guide notes poor cargo space and poor fuel economy as key drawbacks. Even so, the 2024 BMW X6 remains appealing for buyers who want a luxury SUV with a more dramatic shape, strong powertrains, and a long list of upscale technology and performance features. 42.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW X6 reliable?

The 2024 BMW X6 stands out because it combines a strong feature set with a performance-focused layout that feels more special than a conventional midsize luxury crossover. BMW’s own description emphasizes its upscale equipment, updated lighting, and available hands-free driving tech, while also making clear that the model is built around style and sportiness.

That same formula means you should expect a more complex ownership experience than you would from a simpler SUV. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied to the X6’s premium hardware and the possibility that repairs and upkeep can be more expensive if the vehicle has been heavily used or poorly maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the vehicle closely for signs of prior damage, uneven panel gaps, or inconsistent wear. Because the X6 is a style-first luxury SUV, pay extra attention to condition details that can affect both appearance and ownership costs, including tires, wheels, interior wear, and any evidence of deferred maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X6?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market, with meaningful inventory and a noticeable price pullback from last year.

• Deal availability: 42.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 486 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.92% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $62,981, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X6's resale value?

The current average of $62,981 sits slightly below last year's $69,914.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped and maintained. If you keep the X6 clean, documented, and lightly worn, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 42.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.92% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the right pick if you want the refreshed look, updated lighting, more power for the xDrive40i, and the strongest mix of current-market value and inventory. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2024 gives you a compelling balance of features, availability, and softer pricing.
