Is the 2024 BMW X5 M a good car?

The 2024 BMW X5 M stands out because it combines the X5’s everyday luxury-SUV practicality with the kind of performance hardware that makes it feel far more serious than a typical family hauler. For 2024, the X5 received a significant refresh that sharpened its styling, added the BMW Curved Display with digital gauges and next-generation iDrive infotainment, and introduced a new standard six-cylinder engine with more power and better fuel economy. The V8-equipped X5 models also gained mild-hybrid technology to boost output and efficiency.

That makes it a strong fit if you want a high-performance SUV that still feels modern and usable in daily driving. The tradeoff is that it is expensive to buy and not cheap to own, so it makes the most sense if you value performance and premium features over low running costs. 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW X5 M reliable?

The 2024 BMW X5 M benefits from the broader X5 family’s refined cabin, more room inside, and updated infotainment, which helps it feel current and well sorted. The model’s appeal is not just speed but the way BMW wraps that speed in a premium, usable package.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is mainly tied to higher-than-average maintenance and repair costs, so a well-documented service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X5 M?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm the car’s service records before you commit. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the SUV has been driven hard or shows signs of heavy wear. Focus on overall condition, maintenance consistency, and whether the vehicle’s premium features and performance systems have been properly cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X5 M?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 150 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $91,925, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X5 M's resale value?

The current average of $91,925 sits slightly below last year's $100,425.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you better entry pricing than a year ago. If you buy well and keep the SUV in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain than if you pay near the top of the range. For a future seller, the key will be maintenance history and overall condition, since premium performance SUVs tend to reward careful ownership.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X5 M or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.46% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better pick if you want the refreshed look, updated tech, and a market that has eased enough to make shopping more attractive. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2024 gives you the strongest blend of modern features and current market value.
