For the 2024 model year, the changes are minimal and the vehicle is largely a carryover. ## Design While its coupe counterpart, the 4 Series, has embraced BMW's new large, garish grille design, the 3 Series retains a more restrained approach to its front-end design. The 330e is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that combines a turbo-four with a battery and electric motor to put out a combined 288 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. For the performance enthusiast, look to the M340i. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that makes 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. All three of these engines route power through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels or to available xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD). The M340i xDrive can sprint from zero to sixty in just 4.1 seconds. If that’s not quick enough for you, there’s always the weapons-grade BMW M3 (listed as a separate model).
