Used 2023 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearSchenectady, NY

How much does the 2023 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 6.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,856 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.83/5 user rating, and our experts give it an 8/10 overall rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the powerful engine, comfortable interior, smooth ride, stylish appearance, and fuel efficiency. That lines up well with the truck’s role as a full-size pickup that blends capability with a more modern, efficient approach.

The main trade-offs are its potentially polarizing design and the fact that not all safety features are standard. If you want a redesigned full-size truck with strong value and a lot of tech, this year fits that brief well.

With 40.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels powerful, comfortable, smooth, and fuel-efficient, while also being the kind of vehicle owners expect to keep for the long haul. The expert evaluation also emphasizes durability and value, which reinforces the sense that this is a truck built for sustained use.

ToyotaCare adds factory-scheduled maintenance and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles at no additional cost, which helps early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure prior use and maintenance history were clean, especially on a truck that may have been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Tundra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any truck you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. A pre-purchase inspection matters here because the Tundra’s size, towing ability, and available off-road hardware can mean very different wear patterns from one example to the next. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the truck’s equipment matches how you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SR and SR5 are the entry points, while higher trims add more comfort and tech. The SR5 can also get the SX appearance package, which adds dark gray metallic 18-inch wheels, body-color trim pieces, and black interior accents.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, plus an available hybrid version with 437 hp and 583 lb-ft. The hybrid is available on the Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition, and standard on the TRD Pro and Capstone.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 comes standard with automatic emergency braking, road-sign detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, and sway warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available, but not standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen comes standard on the SR and SR5, while a 14-inch screen is optional on the SR5 and standard above it. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and OTA-capable software is part of the new system’s appeal.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck is described as more efficient than the previous generation, but no MPG or MPGe figure is stated here.

Which 2023 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Tundra is offered in 7 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the entry point, and it still gives you the Tundra’s core capability and standard safety tech. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the lineup and don’t need the bigger screen or extra comfort features.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it opens the door to the 14-inch touchscreen and can be dressed up with the SX appearance package. It’s the trim to target if you want a more polished look without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Limited: This is where the truck starts to feel more upscale, and it also unlocks the available hybrid powertrain and wireless charging. Choose it if you want a stronger mix of tech, comfort, and powertrain flexibility.
• Platinum: This trim builds further on the luxury side and gets the hybrid powertrain as available equipment. It suits you if you want a more premium-feeling Tundra without going all the way to the top.
• 1794 Edition: This is another upscale choice with the hybrid powertrain available, aimed at buyers who want more comfort and a distinctive premium character. It’s a good fit if style and equipment matter more than keeping costs down.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road-focused choice, with a 1.1-inch lift, Fox shocks, 33-inch tires, locking rear differential, crawl control, and downhill assist control. Buy this if you want the most trail-ready Tundra.
• Capstone: This is the luxury flagship, with the hybrid powertrain standard and the highest starting price. It’s the right pick if you want the most upscale Tundra experience.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available, but they’re not standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Tundra?

The market leans in your favor right now, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings and waiting for the right price.

• Deal availability: 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,856 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,378, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $42,378 sits slightly below last year's $45,200.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice than on broad market momentum alone. Well-kept trucks with desirable equipment should still draw attention, but you should expect buyers to be selective.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2023 Toyota Tundra earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS for CrewMax models.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 comes standard, with automatic emergency braking, road-sign detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, and sway warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available, but they are not standard across the lineup.

That means you should pay close attention to the exact trim and equipment on any used example, especially if you want the most complete driver-assistance setup.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Toyota keeps the redesign largely unchanged, adding only the SX appearance package for SR5.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $38,236, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $42,378 average.
• It introduced the new generation with V6 powertrains and broad cab and trim flexibility.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,345, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $42,378 average.
• It leans harder into capability and personality, with the i-Force Max drivetrain and TRD Pro appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Tundra with strong tech, good value, and a market that has softened, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better bargain; if you want to spend more for a newer-year alternative, the 2024 is the next step up.
