Used 2023 Toyota Sequoia for Sale nearSaint Paul, MN

How much does the 2023 Toyota Sequoia cost?

Prices have softened 7.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 938 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sequoia a good car?

With a 3.75/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating, the 2023 Toyota Sequoia looks like a strong fit if you want a modern family SUV with serious capability, but you should be ready for some compromises. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The redesign brings a technologically advanced full-size SUV feel, easy-to-use technology, and a standard hybrid powertrain that adds power and efficiency. The trade-offs are clear: poor ride quality, a cramped third row, and limited cargo space for the class.

For shoppers who value towing, standard safety tech, and a well-equipped cabin more than maximum space, it makes sense. The market also looks reasonably open, with 37.4% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sequoia reliable?

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia’s appeal starts with its standard hybrid powertrain and broad safety equipment, and the expert review describes it as improved in nearly every way except interior packaging. The powertrain is described as robust, with strong output and better fuel economy than the outgoing model.

The performance notes also point to a durable-feeling setup with a twin-turbo V6, electric motor/generator, and battery pack, plus improved towing and payload ratings. On the cost side, the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs a bit.

For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that the same packaging changes that improve efficiency also leave you with less room than you may expect from a full-size SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Sequoia?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that may have been used for towing. Focus on overall condition, because the Sequoia’s value depends heavily on whether the cabin, suspension, and drivetrain have been kept in good shape.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR5 starts with an 8-inch touchscreen, while other versions get the larger 14-inch display. If you want the most upscale feel, the Capstone adds leather, wood, metallic finishes, and a more luxurious interior presentation.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 hybrid setup with a 10-speed automatic transmission, a 36-kilowatt electric motor/generator, and a 1.87-kilowatt-hour nickel-metal hydride battery pack. It delivers strong power and better fuel economy than the previous generation.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and road sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Safety Connect, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking are also standard.
• Infotainment: The base SR5 gets an 8-inch touchscreen, while other versions get a 14-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system supports connected services and a voice assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sequoia is EPA-rated at 20 mpg with 4WD and 22 mpg with RWD. In testing, the Capstone 4WD returned 17.8 mpg.

Which 2023 Toyota Sequoia trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia is offered in 5 trim levels: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and Capstone.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point, but it is not stripped down. You still get the standard hybrid powertrain and the full safety suite, though the smaller 8-inch touchscreen makes it the least upscale choice.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it moves you into a more polished setup without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• Platinum: This trim adds more luxury and also marks the point where the camera-based digital rearview mirror becomes standard.
• TRD Pro: Choose this if you want the most off-road-focused version in the lineup. It is the trim to consider for added capability, though the review still notes limits to ground clearance and off-road angles.
• Capstone: This is the most luxurious version, with the 14-inch infotainment screen, upscale interior materials, and the most premium presentation.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Sequoia?

This looks like a selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 938 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $60,661, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Sequoia's resale value?

The current average of $60,661 sits slightly below last year's $65,541.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you sell later, you may face a softer resale environment than owners saw a year ago, especially if the vehicle has higher mileage or visible wear.

The good news is that the Sequoia still has a strong feature set and standard hybrid power, which should help it hold appeal with the right buyer. The downside is that its space compromises may narrow the pool of shoppers willing to pay top dollar.

Is the 2023 Toyota Sequoia safe?

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Every driver-assistance feature available for the 2023 Toyota Sequoia is standard equipment, and Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 bundles forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and road sign recognition. It also includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Safety Connect, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking.

The review notes that neither NHTSA nor IIHS had crash-tested the new Sequoia at the time of writing, so there is no crash-test result to cite here. Even so, the standard safety tech is extensive and well integrated.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Sequoia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.45% compared with last year.
• It brings a redesigned cabin, standard hybrid power, and strong expert safety marks.

Consider the 2022 if:

• It offers a more traditional, truck-like full-size SUV feel with more cargo space.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $65,450, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $60,661 average.
• It adds the same hybrid formula with improved fuel economy and more premium-feeling equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Sequoia’s hybrid power, standard safety tech, and updated tech features, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less, the 2023’s softer pricing makes it the smarter target; if you want to pay more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2024 is the natural step up.
