How much does the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla cost?

Prices are up 3.11% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 190 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla a good car?

The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla is a strong fit if you want a hot hatch that blends everyday hatchback practicality with serious performance hardware. It earns 3.7/5 from users and 7.3/10 from experts.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Safety.

Toyota’s Gazoo Racing tuning gives you a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, standard all-wheel drive, and aggressive bodywork, and the expert notes also call out great handling and a powerful engine. The trade-offs are that the design may be polarizing and the car is noisy, so it suits you best if you value excitement more than quiet commuting.

26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla reliable?

The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla is presented as a brand-new performance hatch with Toyota’s usual safety-minded approach and a strong emphasis on durable, enthusiast-focused hardware. The expert notes describe it as a car that feels rigid and well-sorted, with a manual transmission that includes rev-matching technology and an AWD system built for serious driving.

The performance notes also suggest it can handle daily use in Core and Circuit trims, while the Morizo trim is more specialized and less practical for regular ownership. Toyota’s inclusion of standard driver-assistance features and a full safety suite adds confidence for used buyers, but long-term ownership risk is still higher than with a mainstream Corolla because this is a more specialized performance model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota GR Corolla?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a car that may have been driven hard. Focus on tire wear, brake condition, clutch feel, and signs of track use or modification, since this is an enthusiast model that may have lived a tougher life than a typical commuter car.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Core trim is the entry point and gets the standard body-color roof and rear spoiler, while the Circuit trim adds a carbon-fiber roof and the Morizo trim goes further with a lighter, more track-focused setup. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting the extra hardware if you care about maximum performance.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower in Core and Circuit trims, while the Morizo trim increases torque to 295 lb-ft. A six-speed manual is the only transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard.
• Safety package: Toyota includes a standard suite of driver assistance features with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure assist with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, adaptive cruise control, road-sign assistance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear-view camera with parking aid lines. These features are standard across the model.
• Infotainment: The cabin gets an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, dual-device Bluetooth connectivity, and a 12.3-inch driver information display. An eight-speaker JBL stereo is available on Core and Circuit trims but not on the Morizo.
• Fuel efficiency: The available information does not state an MPG or MPGe figure.

Which 2023 Toyota GR Corolla trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla is offered in 3 trim levels: Core, Circuit Edition, and Morizo Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the best-value trim if you want the GR Corolla experience at the lowest entry price. You still get the core performance formula, standard all-wheel drive, and the full safety and tech package, so it covers the essentials without pushing you into the more expensive special editions.
• Circuit Edition: This is the sweet spot if you want more performance hardware and a more special feel without jumping all the way to the top trim. It adds a carbon-fiber roof and limited-slip differentials, and the expert notes describe it as the Goldilocks value choice.
• Morizo Edition: This is the most focused version, with more torque, closer gearing, better tires, and extra structural rigidity. It suits you best if you care most about track-day performance and can live with the missing rear seat and reduced everyday practicality.

Toyota’s safety suite is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up trims to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota GR Corolla?

Act selectively, because this is still a seller’s market and the best listings may move quickly.

• Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 190 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.11% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,585, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $36,959 sits slightly above last year's $35,843.

That upward move suggests the GR Corolla is holding value well for a used performance hatch. If you buy one now and keep it in good condition, you may benefit from relatively strong resale demand later, especially if you choose a desirable trim and avoid heavy wear or modifications.

Is the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla safe?

The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota equips it with ten airbags and a standard suite of driver-assistance features that includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure assist with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, adaptive cruise control, road-sign assistance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a rear-view camera with parking aid lines. Those features give you a strong safety baseline even though the vehicle has not yet been crash-tested by the major agencies.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota GR Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.11% year-over-year.
• The 2023 stands out as an all-new hot hatch with standard all-wheel drive, a turbocharged three-cylinder engine, and a strong expert score.

The bottom line: If you want the first-year GR Corolla with its full performance personality and strong market support, the 2023 is the primary path to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping carefully for a well-priced example, since the market still offers some room to find value.
