Is the 2023 RAM 3500 a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating points to a truck that satisfies many shoppers looking for heavy-duty capability with daily-driver comfort. The overview backs that up: you get class-leading towing and payload potential, a more upscale cabin, and useful tech such as a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and a 12-inch vertical infotainment system. If you want a work-focused truck that still feels refined inside, this model year fits that use case well. The market also shows 34.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a truck built around serious capability, with a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for the Hemi models. It also emphasizes a cabin and feature set designed to make the truck easier to live with, which can matter a lot over years of ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a heavy-duty truck used for demanding towing or hauling may have a harder life than its mileage alone suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 RAM 3500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the truck closely for signs of hard use, especially if it was likely used for towing or commercial work. Pay extra attention to overall condition, since a heavy-duty truck can look clean while still carrying wear from demanding duty. A thorough pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you want to avoid surprises after purchase.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 RAM 3500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you focus on the right listings.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,237 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,545, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $55,977 sits slightly below last year's $57,563.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the truck's strong capability and upscale feature set should help it stay relevant with shoppers who need serious towing and payload capacity. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment are likely to hold attention better than stripped or heavily used trucks.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2023 if you want the refreshed heavy-duty package with strong capability, a more modern cabin, and a market that still offers some deal potential. If you're especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 is a strong choice when you want the updated features and can find a clean, well-priced example.
