Used 2023 Porsche Taycan for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2023 Porsche Taycan cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 514 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Porsche Taycan a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Porsche Taycan earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

The Taycan’s appeal comes through clearly in its Porsche-first character: it is built to be fun to drive, comfortable, and visually distinctive, with multiple body styles that broaden its usefulness beyond a single niche. The expert evaluation also points to strong build quality and a polished driving experience.

The main trade-off is range, which is merely average, so you should be realistic if long-distance efficiency is a priority. The tech score is also more modest than the driving score, which fits a car that puts the driving experience ahead of gadgetry.

The market shows 32.1% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Porsche Taycan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Taycan’s reliability case is helped by its strong build quality, comfortable ride, and the sense that it is engineered with the kind of precision you expect from Porsche. Its performance-focused design also suggests a well-developed platform rather than a rushed EV conversion.

The expert evaluation notes that the Taycan’s performance is a major strength, and its charging system includes battery preconditioning to help you get the most from DC fast charging. That kind of engineering detail is a plus for everyday usability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that range remains only average, so your experience will depend heavily on how the battery has been used and charged over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Porsche Taycan?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and inspect the car carefully, even when the market looks clean. Focus on battery condition, charging behavior, and whether the car has been used in a way that matches your driving needs. A pre-purchase inspection is especially worthwhile on a premium EV like this, where repair costs can be significant.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Taycan’s body styles and cabin design are part of its appeal, and the Cross Turismo models add a rear hatch with extra presence and convenience. The interior emphasizes clean Porsche design and strong materials, so you should compare how much utility and style you want versus the simpler, more traditional sedan setup.
• Powertrain: The base Taycan uses a single rear electric motor, while the Taycan 4 adds a front motor for all-wheel drive. Output varies by configuration, and the Performance Battery Plus can raise power and improve the driving experience.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and front and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitors and a surround-view camera system are part of the optional Premium package, while adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, and remote parking come with the Technology package.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a native navigation system, wireless charging, and a curved digital instrument panel. The screen is a bit small and sits low enough that it can take some attention away from the road.
• Range & charging: The base sedan is estimated at 208 miles of range, while the Performance Battery Plus can raise that to 242 miles. DC fast charging is standard and can reach up to 270 kW, with charging from five percent to 80 percent in as little as 23 minutes on the larger battery. Home charging on a 220-volt station takes 10.5 hours from empty to full.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, ask how often the car was DC fast charged versus charged at home, and confirm how much battery warranty coverage remains. A car that has mostly seen normal home charging and moderate use is generally the safer long-term bet.

Which 2023 Porsche Taycan trim should I buy?

The 2023 Porsche Taycan is offered in 1 trim level: Taycan.

Here's the short version:

The Taycan is the right pick if you want Porsche performance, strong build quality, and a distinctive EV driving experience without chasing the highest-output versions. It suits you best if you value the brand’s handling and design more than maximum range or the most advanced tech interface.

The Taycan’s standard safety equipment is solid, but some helpful driver-assistance features remain optional, so you should check the exact package content on any used example you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Porsche Taycan?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 514 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $74,581, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Porsche Taycan's resale value?

The current average of $78,154 sits slightly below last year's $78,634.

That small decline suggests the Taycan has been relatively stable in the used market rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern can be helpful because it points to predictable demand instead of a volatile resale curve.

The model’s strong brand appeal and performance reputation should continue to support interest from shoppers who want a premium EV with Porsche character. If you keep mileage, condition, and battery health in good shape, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Porsche Taycan safe?

The 2023 Porsche Taycan received five-out-of-five stars in European NCAP safety tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and front and rear parking sensors. If you want more coverage, the optional Premium package adds blind-spot monitors and a surround-view camera system, while the Technology package adds adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, and remote parking.

One caveat is that crash-test results from NHTSA and IIHS have not been published for this model year, so you should lean more heavily on the standard equipment list and the specific options fitted to the car you are considering.

Should I buy a 2023 Porsche Taycan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Not only does the 2023 Porsche Taycan perform as any new car from Porsche should, but it's also more versatile and affordable than you might think.

The bottom line: The 2023 Taycan makes the most sense if you want a used Porsche EV with stable pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a broad selection of listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 is a sensible place to start because it balances market availability with the Taycan’s core strengths.
