CarGurus Analysis: 2023 Porsche Panamera
overall

Summary
With 310 currently listed for sale and an average price of $83,738.00, 32.3% of 2023 Porsche Panameras for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Porsche Panamera 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.67 / 10.
91.3% of 2023 Panamera models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2023 Porsche Panamera stands out because it brings Porsche’s sports-car character into a four-door grand tourer format. It blends styling cues from the 911 Carrera with the more practical, passenger-friendly shape of a sportback or sports wagon, giving it a look and layout that are both distinctive and useful. The lineup is also broad, with three body styles and multiple drivetrains, so buyers can tailor the car to their priorities.
On the road, the Panamera’s appeal is rooted in its driving character and everyday comfort. It is described as fun to drive and comfortable, while also offering plenty of cargo space. For 2023, the only change is that adaptive cruise control is standard instead of optional, which adds convenience to an already well-rounded package.
There are still a few drawbacks to keep in mind. The brake pedal feel on winding roads is a noted weakness, the Bose audio system is unimpressive, and the car’s performance value for the money is not especially strong. Even so, the 2023 Porsche Panamera remains distinctive for buyers who want a luxury performance car that can deliver both style and practicality.

Fully loaded with the platinum trim. Very nicely built wait as expected. The hybrid system is very cool and it can actually go about 30 miles on battery alone.

Reviewed a 2023 Porsche Panamera on Nov 3, 2023
Six months into 23 Panamera 4 as daily driver. Base car with surround view and 14 way seats. Could not be happier with build quality and handling. Despite girth and weight it keeps up with the best through twisting country roads with changes in elevation. High speed runs quiet and very comfortable. Precise steering, good road feel and flat coil spring suspension on Sport mode. Despite not having rear wheel steering, I manage easy three point turns and tight parking better that in my last car, a 2018 BMW M2. Although not a screamer in acceleration, the base engine is more than adequate for real-world driving. Porsche info. sys. interface is quirky and getting string into memory and to hold, is a pain. Even Porsche guru had problem. Porsche.com is a black hole in trying to sort thins out. The car itself is a great big, old school sports sedan. Stay away from all the options, unless you have deep pockets. They do not, for the most part, add to the diving pleasure. They do, however, satisfy the hedonist (and Porsches bottom line).

That said, the expert review also flags a few trade-offs: the brake pedal feel on winding roads is a weakness, the Bose audio system is unimpressive, and performance value for the money is not especially strong. For you, that means the Panamera makes the most sense if you care more about driving character, style, and everyday usability than maximum value per dollar.
With 30.6% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2023 Porsche Panamera reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The overview and expert review both point to a car built around quality, comfort, and everyday usability, with the expert review emphasizing impeccable engineering and a refined driving experience. The performance write-up also describes the PDK transmission as a terrific example of a dual-clutch automatic, with decisive shift action and a sense of meticulous engineering.
The cost-effectiveness section notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which is a helpful ownership perk early on.
For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that this is still a complex, expensive luxury performance car, so upkeep and repairs can be costly even if the core engineering is strong.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Porsche Panamera?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been optioned heavily or driven hard. Focus on brake feel, infotainment operation, and the condition of the interior and exterior trim, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The standard Panamera, Panamera Executive, and Panamera Sport Turismo give you different body styles, while the Platinum Edition adds exclusive detailing, unique 21-inch wheels, a sport exhaust system, and a Premium Package. The base setup is the simplest version, while the Platinum Edition adds comfort and convenience features that make it the better-value choice if you want more equipment without stepping into a heavily optioned car.
- Powertrain: The base Panamera and Platinum Edition use a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 with 325 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed PDK transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. The expert review says this setup is fantastic unless you want outright acceleration speed.
- Safety package: The standard driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and parking sensors. The Assistance Package adds a head-up display, surround-view camera, and Porsche InnoDrive with Traffic Jam Assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard for 2023, but InnoDrive is not.
- Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch center touchscreen with Porsche Communication Management, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, Connect Plus services, and a wireless smartphone charger. The system also supports online navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, car finder, and vehicle tracking.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA says the V6 model should return 20 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 19.3 mpg on a mountainous route.
Which 2023 Porsche Panamera trim should I buy?
The 2023 Porsche Panamera is offered in 3 trim levels: Panamera, Panamera Executive, and Panamera Sport Turismo.
Here's the short version:
- Panamera: This is the trim to start with if you want the core Panamera experience in the standard body style. It gives you the base twin-turbo V6, rear-wheel drive, and the car’s signature blend of comfort, cargo space, and sports-car character without pushing you into the more expensive optioned versions.
- Panamera Executive: Choose this if you want the extended-wheelbase layout and more passenger-friendly packaging. It makes the Panamera’s practical side more appealing, especially if rear-seat comfort matters to you.
- Panamera Sport Turismo: Pick this if you want the wagon-style body and the most utility-focused version of the lineup. It suits you best if cargo flexibility is a priority and you still want the Panamera’s distinctive design and driving feel.
The safety content also notes that adaptive cruise control is standard on all 2023 Panameras, while the Assistance Package adds InnoDrive with Traffic Jam Assist, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Porsche Panamera?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.
- Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 317 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $83,108.91, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Porsche Panamera's resale value?
The current average of $83,065 sits slightly below last year's $90,503.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than broad market momentum alone.
Because this model has a strong owner satisfaction rating and a distinctive luxury-performance identity, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. The better your car’s condition and history, the more likely it is to hold buyer demand over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Porsche Panamera safe?
It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.
Porsche fortifies the Panamera Platinum Edition with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and parking sensors. If you want more capability, the available Assistance Package adds a head-up display, a surround-view camera, and Porsche InnoDrive with Traffic Jam Assist.
One caveat is that the lane-departure warning system can struggle to distinguish pavement seams from lane markings. The lane-keeping assist can also intervene abruptly once it decides you are not paying close attention, so you should test those systems carefully during a drive.
Should I buy a 2023 Porsche Panamera or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.22% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2023 model’s key update is that adaptive cruise control is standard instead of optional.
The bottom line: If you want the Panamera’s blend of style, comfort, and practicality with a favorable used-car price trend, the 2023 is the year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can still shop nearby model years, but the 2023 gives you a strong mix of inventory, satisfaction, and standard equipment.
