It has featured minor incremental changes since then. It carries over into 2023 largely unchanged. ## Design The 2023 Sentra features Nissan’s contemporary design language, scaled down to the compact sedan format. The SR trim is also available in the Midnight Edition, which features black 18-inch wheels and black exterior details. ## Powertrain The 2023 Nissan Sentra comes equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels through Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT), which features a manual mode with simulated tap-shift “gears.” In the S and SV trims, this powertrain returns fuel economy of 29 mpg city, 39 highway, and 33 combined. The SR Premium Package adds an 8-speaker Bose premium stereo system. ## Safety Nissan provides a handful of standard driver-assistance features on the Sentra. These include forward (and reverse) automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring.
