How much does the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder cost?

Prices have softened 8.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,615 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable interior, and especially the second-row seating. The sound system also comes up as a recurring strength, and the Pathfinder’s roomy cabin and usable third row make it appealing if you want a practical family SUV. On the trade-off side, the expert review points to a high starting price and a ride that can be hard to balance, while the shifter design is another drawback.

The Pathfinder fits you best if you want a family-focused three-row SUV with comfort, space, and a strong feature set rather than a single standout specialty. Good and great deals account for 33.2% of listings, which suggests there are still some worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on comfort, utility, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience. The expert review also describes the Pathfinder as smooth and quiet, with plenty of power for town and highway driving, which supports the sense that it’s built to handle regular family duty without drama. Nissan also backs it with a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about living with the Pathfinder’s quirks and feature mix over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Pathfinder?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share doesn’t replace a VIN-level review. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the ride quality, interior condition, and any signs that the vehicle has been used hard, especially if you’re considering a Rock Creek model. It’s also worth confirming that the features you want are actually present, since equipment varies a lot by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, manually adjustable seats, cloth upholstery, push-button start, remote keyless entry, tri-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen. The SV adds heated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, remote start, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and additional driver assistance features. The SL adds a 10-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, wireless device charging, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, and a 9-inch touchscreen. The Rock Creek adds off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, unique styling elements, LED fog lights, a heavy-duty roof cargo rack, standard four-wheel drive, and a water-repellent interior. The Platinum adds upgraded leather upholstery, 20-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, a wall-style power outlet, ventilated front seats, a fully digital instrument panel, and a power tilt-telescoping steering wheel.
• Powertrain: The Pathfinder uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The Rock Creek version is tuned to 295 hp and 270 lb-ft, and it adds a slightly taller suspension with off-road shocks and standard AWD.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward and reverse collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. SV adds ProPilot Assist with lane centering and adaptive cruise control. SL adds front parking sensors, a 360-degree parking monitor, traffic-sign recognition, and navigation-linked ProPilot Assist. Platinum adds rain-sensing wipers and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum get a 9-inch touchscreen. The Pathfinder also includes Bluetooth, satellite radio, voice recognition, and four USB ports. SL adds wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless device charging, and a third-row USB port, while Platinum adds a second third-row USB port.
• Fuel efficiency: The Pathfinder returns 21 mpg city, 27 highway, and 23 combined. SL and Platinum 4WD trims return 20 mpg city, 25 highway, and 22 combined. The Rock Creek is rated at 20 mpg city, 23 highway, and 21 combined.

Which 2023 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value starting point if you want the Pathfinder’s core space, safety, and tech without paying for extras. You still get the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, tri-zone climate control, and the standard driver-assistance suite.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds heated front seats, remote start, a power driver’s seat, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and ProPilot Assist. If you want a more comfortable daily driver without jumping too far in price, this is the trim to focus on.
• SL: This is the trim to choose if you want a more upscale cabin and better convenience features. Wireless device charging, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a 9-inch screen, front parking sensors, and a 360-degree monitor make it feel meaningfully richer.
• Rock Creek: This is the pick if you want the rugged look and the added trail-ready hardware. It brings off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, standard four-wheel drive, and a more durable interior, but it also comes with a rougher ride on pavement.
• Platinum: This is the top-end choice if you want the most comfort and convenience. Ventilated front seats, upgraded leather, a digital instrument panel, a hands-free power liftgate, and the most complete feature set make it the most luxurious Pathfinder.

The SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum trims add the larger 9-inch touchscreen, while the SV is the first trim to get ProPilot Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Pathfinder?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to find value.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,615 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.39% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,589, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $29,589 sits slightly below last year's $32,299.

That decline suggests the Pathfinder has already absorbed some of its recent market softening, which can help future buyers but may temper short-term resale gains for current owners. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less depreciation left to absorb than someone who bought when prices were higher. Strong trim selection and condition will matter a lot when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward and reverse collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Platinum adds rain-sensing wipers and a head-up display.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The Rock Creek edition adds a more rugged option for buyers who want extra trail-ready character.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,350, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $29,589 average.
• It offers a rugged look with thoughtful features and safety technology.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market value, inventory, and feature content, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers much of the Pathfinder’s core appeal.
