Is the 2023 Nissan Maxima a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2023 Nissan Maxima. It stands out as a sedan that still leans into Nissan’s “Four-door sports car” identity, with a 3.5-liter V6, 300 horsepower, and handling sharpened by larger sway bars. At the same time, it is tuned more for composed everyday driving than outright excitement, and it brings a strong list of standard equipment and safety tech, including an 8-inch color display with navigation. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about flash and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and still feels tight and clean.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Maxima?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or neglected maintenance. Because the Maxima’s appeal depends partly on its condition and equipment, pay close attention to how well the interior, electronics, and driving feel match the mileage and asking price. A clean, well-kept example is the one most likely to deliver the value this model is known for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Maxima?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 382 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,256, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Maxima's resale value?

The current average of $26,556 sits slightly above last year's $26,420.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed fairly stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later. A steady price trend can support resale confidence because it signals that buyers are still willing to pay for the model’s mix of V6 power, standard equipment, and safety content. If you keep the car in strong condition and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position when it is time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Maxima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version in this market window and you value stable pricing, the 2023 is the cleanest primary path. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2023 still looks appealing when you want a well-equipped sedan with a steady market and a strong satisfaction signal.
