Used 2023 Nissan Frontier for Sale near Michigan

How much does the 2023 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 2.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,303 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.94/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, comfortable interior, and modern features. Many also value it as a strong buy compared with rivals, and the truck’s practical equipment mix helps it fit shoppers who want a midsize pickup that feels capable without being overcomplicated. The main trade-offs are a sluggish transmission and poor fuel economy, so it suits you best if you care more about everyday usefulness and equipment than outright refinement or efficiency. Good and great deals account for 34.1% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on over time, with owners especially appreciating its strong performance and comfortable cabin. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Frontier’s proven, familiar character and its straightforward approach in this second year of the current generation. Nissan’s maintenance perk language is not included in the available data, but the overall ownership picture still points to solid day-to-day dependability. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright reliability and more about living with the truck’s weaker fuel economy and sluggish transmission.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Nissan Frontier?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any truck you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the transmission behavior, brake condition, and any signs of hard use, especially if the truck was used for towing or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition and equipment level, since the Frontier’s value proposition depends heavily on getting the right trim and features for your needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2023 Nissan Frontier is offered in four trim levels: S, SV, Pro-X, and Pro-4X. The S and SV are the more basic choices, while the Pro trims add more upscale equipment and a stronger feature set; the SV also gets a Midnight Edition appearance package, and the Pro trims add Lava Red interior accents. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are available on both Pro grades, which makes them the better fit if you want a more comfortable and better-equipped truck.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.8-liter V6 makes 310 hp and 281 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is available; the Pro-X is not offered with 4WD. Fuel economy is rated at up to 20 mpg combined, or 19 combined with 4WD.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning, trailer sway control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear-door alert are standard across the lineup. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is available on every trim, while lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are available but not standard. Traffic-sign recognition and intelligent cruise control are standard on Pro-4X, so lower trims miss some of the most advanced safety content unless you add it.
• Infotainment: S and SV trims use an 8-inch touchscreen, while Pro-X and Pro-4X get a 9-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay is standard on the Pro trims, but Android Auto still requires a wired connection. The Pro trims also get more USB ports, an available wireless charging pad, and an available 10-speaker Fender premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates the Frontier at up to 20 mpg combined, with 18 city and 24 highway. Four-wheel-drive models drop to 17 city, 22 highway, and 19 combined.

Which 2023 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2023 Nissan Frontier is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, Pro-X, and Pro-4X.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point if you want the Frontier’s core V6 power and basic truck functionality at the lowest price. It makes sense if you care most about value and can live with the simpler 8-inch touchscreen and four-speaker audio system.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday appeal without jumping all the way to the Pro models. It also gets the Midnight Edition package, which gives you a darker appearance treatment if style matters to you.
• Pro-X: Choose this if you want the more upscale Pro-trim equipment, including the larger 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and the six-speaker audio system, but you do not need four-wheel drive.
• Pro-4X: This is the most capable and best-equipped choice if you want 4WD, hill-descent control, and the strongest safety content in the lineup. It also gets the Pro-trim comfort and tech upgrades, making it the right pick if you want the most complete Frontier package.

Traffic-sign recognition and intelligent cruise control are standard on Pro-4X, while lower trims can add some safety features as options.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,303 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.74% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,832, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $32,049 sits slightly below last year's $32,952.

That softer pricing suggests the Frontier has already moved through some of its early depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range and keep the truck in good condition, you may be better positioned when it is time to sell. Strong demand for well-equipped midsize pickups can also help support values, especially when the truck has the right trim and a clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2023 Nissan Frontier earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star side-crash results, four-star frontal-crash results, and three-star rollover results.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward-collision warning, trailer sway control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and rear-door alert are standard across the lineup. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is available on every trim, but it is not standard, so you need to check whether a used truck has the package installed. Lower trims also miss some advanced features unless they were added as options, while Pro-4X gets traffic-sign recognition and intelligent cruise control as standard equipment.

Should I buy a 2023 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds minor updates and more standard features while keeping the Frontier’s proven current-generation formula.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,949, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $32,049 average.
• It brings a redesigned truck with updated styling, a comfortable cabin, and real off-road capability.

The bottom line: If you want the better shopping environment and the latest version of this generation’s equipment mix, the 2023 is the cleaner choice. If your priority is saving money and you can live with an older model year, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path.
