Is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport a good car?

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a straightforward, value-focused subcompact crossover that stands out for affordability, practicality, hatchback access, a higher ride height, and standard all-wheel drive. It is a good fit if you want an easy-to-live-with AWD compact SUV and care more about utility and efficiency than flash.

Its long-running formula also means it has accumulated useful updates over time, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on more models, plus a 2020 refresh that added a sharper front end, revised rear styling, a 7-inch touchscreen audio display, LED headlights, and automatic climate control. At the same time, you should expect a dated feel, weak engine performance, cheap interior materials, and a rough ride.

39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport reliable?

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is presented as a familiar, straightforward option with a long-running reputation that helps make it easy to shop and own. Its appeal is rooted in practicality and value, and the model’s gradual updates have helped it stay usable for everyday driving.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about condition and maintenance history than about chasing a complicated feature set. A clean, well-kept example should be easier to live with than one that has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any evidence that the vehicle has been repaired poorly. Because this model is known for a rough ride and a dated feel, pay close attention to overall condition, interior wear, and how the vehicle drives on imperfect roads.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,103 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,356, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport's resale value?

The current average of $17,394 sits slightly below last year's $18,725.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to give you a better entry point than a year ago. If you buy carefully now, you may reduce your upfront cost while still choosing from a decent pool of listings. For a future seller, though, the same trend means resale value may remain under pressure unless the vehicle is especially clean, well-equipped, and well documented.

Should I buy a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2023 is a sensible choice if you want standard all-wheel drive, practical everyday usability, and a value-oriented price point. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing closely, but the 2023 gives you a strong mix of inventory, affordability, and clean-listing availability.
