Is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander is a solid fit if you want a compact SUV with extra seating and a more modern cabin, and its user rating is 3.7/5. It stands out because it offers a standard third row, a larger infotainment touchscreen, and an available digital instrument panel, while its available features can be generous on higher trims. It makes the most sense if you value comfort, technology, and seven-passenger flexibility more than sporty handling. There are 36.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander comes with a generous 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and its safety record is strong, with the IIHS naming it a Top Safety Pick+ in earlier testing. It also benefits from a more contemporary platform and a cabin that feels more modern than the previous generation. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that Mitsubishi’s limited dealer network can make service access less convenient than it is for some rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the third row, infotainment system, and any available driver-assistance features. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you plan to use the Outlander as a family hauler or want the higher-trim equipment to work as intended.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander?

This is a moderate buyer's market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,162 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,862, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

The current average of $21,862 sits slightly below last year's $23,980.

That price movement suggests the Outlander has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, the current market level means your future resale value will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than higher-mileage or poorly documented vehicles.

Should I buy a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.83% compared with last year.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $19,091, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $21,862 average.
• It feels like a more modern and relevant choice than Mitsubishi’s recent efforts.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better pick if you want the newer model-year pricing context, a strong supply of listings, and the same core appeal of standard third-row seating and available tech. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value path, especially if you can find one in strong condition with the features you want.
