It is positioned as a midsize, all-electric sedan that gives you a luxury-first experience while staying more approachable than the larger EQS. What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because EV ownership depends heavily on battery condition, charging habits, and software health. Focus on cabin condition, charging-port operation, and whether the car has been used mostly for home charging or frequent DC fast charging.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base EQE 350+ brings a single rear motor, while the EQE 350 4Matic adds front-motor all-wheel drive and more torque. The EQE 500 4Matic adds more power, and the AMG EQE is the high-performance choice. The 350 4Matic reads as the best-value trim because it adds traction and stronger output without jumping all the way to AMG pricing.
• Powertrain: The EQE 350+ uses a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive, while the 350 4Matic, 500 4Matic, and AMG EQE use dual-motor all-wheel drive. Output ranges from 288 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque in the base model to 617 horsepower and 701 pound-feet in the AMG, with the AMG Dynamic package raising that further.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, cross-traffic collision mitigation, and active emergency stop assist. The optional Driver Assistance package adds adaptive cruise control and active lane-keep and blind-spot assists that steer the vehicle back into its lane.
• Infotainment: Mercedes’ MBUX system is the tech highlight, with a large main screen, quick responses, natural-language voice control, and an optional augmented reality navigation overlay. Fingerprint login support and Mercedes me Charge integration add convenience.
• Range & charging: Non-AMG models are estimated at 410 miles of range, while the AMG EQE is estimated at 321 miles or 275 miles with the AMG Dynamic package. Mercedes includes two years of free 30-minute DC fast charging sessions on the Electrify America network once you are enrolled in Mercedes me Charge.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, ask how the car was typically charged, and confirm whether it spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. Also verify how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have as a used buyer.

Which 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE is offered in 4 trim levels: EQE 350+, EQE 350 4Matic, EQE 500 4Matic, AMG EQE.

Here's the short version:

• EQE 350+: This is the entry point, and it gives you the rear-wheel-drive single-motor setup with the longest non-AMG range estimate. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the EQE lineup and care most about luxury and efficiency.
• EQE 350 4Matic: This is the best-value trim because it adds all-wheel drive and stronger torque without moving into the pricier upper trims. If you want the most balanced mix of capability, range, and everyday usability, this is the one to target.
• EQE 500 4Matic: Choose this if you want more power and standard four-wheel steering, along with a quicker 0-60 mph estimate. It is the right step up if you want a more forceful driving experience without going full AMG.
• AMG EQE: This is the performance-focused choice, with the most power and the quickest acceleration in the lineup. It suits you if straight-line speed and top-end performance matter more than efficiency.

The optional Driver Assistance package adds adaptive cruise control and active lane-keep and blind-spot assists that steer the vehicle back into its lane.

• Deal availability: 52.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,123 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.62% compared with last year.

What is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE's resale value?

The current average of $37,405 sits slightly below last year's $41,850.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, trim, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because the EQE is a luxury EV with strong range and a premium cabin, well-kept examples should remain appealing to shoppers who want refinement and efficiency. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE safe?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE has not yet been published by NHTSA or IIHS, so there are no official crash-test ratings to cite yet.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include frontal collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, cross-traffic collision mitigation, and active emergency stop assist. The optional Driver Assistance package adds adaptive cruise control and active lane-keep and blind-spot assists that steer the vehicle back into its lane.

A notable caveat is that the official crash-test record is still pending, so you should lean on the available driver-assistance equipment and a careful inspection when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 52.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 EQE is presented as a strong alternative to the larger and more expensive EQS, with excellent range and a luxury-first focus.

The bottom line: The 2023 EQE is the right pick if you want a luxury EV with strong range, a premium cabin, and a market that currently favors buyers. If you are especially price-sensitive, the softened pricing and healthy deal availability make this a good year to target before moving up to newer model years.
