Used 2023 Mazda CX-30 for Sale nearDayton, OH

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices are up 1.24% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 3,749 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The CX-30 stands out as a small crossover that emphasizes a compact footprint, a classy interior, and enjoyable driving dynamics. It also gets a more powerful base engine for 2023, which adds to its appeal if you want a premium-feeling daily driver in a small-SUV package.

The trade-offs are clear: the rear seat is cramped, cargo space is tight, and the infotainment system is flawed. If you value style, refinement, and driving enjoyment more than maximum space, the CX-30 fits that use case well.

38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-30’s 2023 updates include improved side-impact collision protection, and the model is described as a premium-leaning small crossover with a refined cabin and strong safety focus. Its standard all-wheel drive and upgraded base engine also support the sense that it is built to handle everyday use with confidence.

The performance notes point to a rewarding driving character, with a torquey powertrain and a chassis tuned for enjoyable road manners. The cost-effectiveness commentary also frames the CX-30 2.5 S as a compelling value if you can live with its space and tech compromises.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the cramped cabin and fussy infotainment may become daily annoyances if your needs are more practical than enthusiast-oriented.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment usability, and whether the vehicle’s space limitations work for your needs before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim has cloth seats, while higher trims add artificial or genuine leather upholstery and more upscale interior detailing. The base model also misses some of the convenience and safety upgrades found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 191 horsepower, while the turbocharged version can make up to 250 horsepower on premium fuel. Both engines use a six-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Every CX-30 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, driver monitoring, automatic high beams, and an emergency notification system. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not on the base trim, and higher trims add more advanced features.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses an 8.8-inch display, and all CX-30s include Bluetooth, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The system does not have a touchscreen, and wireless smartphone charging is extra-cost.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine improves to 29 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 23.6 mpg on the evaluation drive.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 7 trim levels: base, Select, Preferred, Carbon Edition, Premium, Premium Plus, and Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value play if you want the CX-30’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get standard all-wheel drive, the upgraded base engine, and the full safety suite, but you miss some of the nicer cabin materials and added convenience features found higher up.
• Select: This is the first step up if you want a better-equipped CX-30 without jumping too far in price. It builds on the base model’s fundamentals while keeping the same overall character.
• Preferred: This trim is a good middle-ground choice if you want more comfort and a more upscale feel without going all the way to the premium trims.
• Carbon Edition: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and a richer presentation while staying within the standard 2.5 S lineup.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment, including the adaptive front lighting system, traffic sign recognition, and a head-up display.
• Premium Plus: Pick this if you want the most fully equipped non-turbo CX-30 and value the added convenience and driver-assistance hardware.
• Turbo Premium Plus: This is the choice if you want the strongest acceleration and the most advanced driving-assistance tech, but it commands a premium that makes it harder to justify unless you specifically want the turbo powertrain.

All but the base trim feature blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and the 2.5 S Premium and Turbo Premium add the adaptive front lighting system, traffic sign recognition, and a head-up display.

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,749 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.24% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 86.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,510, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $23,323 sits slightly above last year's $23,037.

That modest increase suggests the CX-30 has held value reasonably well, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A model year with steady pricing usually indicates that shoppers still see enough appeal in the package to support demand.

The combination of premium-feeling materials, strong safety, and enjoyable driving dynamics helps keep the CX-30 attractive in the used market. Its limited rear-seat and cargo space may narrow the audience, but the core appeal remains broad enough to support resale.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every CX-30 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, driver monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights, and an emergency notification system. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on all but the base trim, and higher trims add an adaptive front lighting system, traffic sign recognition, and a head-up display.

Mazda also improved side-impact crash protection for 2023 with standard rear side airbags and outboard rear seatbelt tensioners. The main caveat is that some of the more useful driver-assistance and visibility features are reserved for higher trims.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.24% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 adds a more powerful base engine and improved side-impact collision protection.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,059, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,323 average.
• It delivers an upscale cabin and fun-to-drive character.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $23,168, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $23,323 average.
• It adds new trims, USB-C ports, and an available larger screen with wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and updated hardware, the 2023 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the cheaper route into the same basic formula. If you want newer tech features, the 2024 is the better pick.
