There are 1,249 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from owners and 7/10 from our experts. The 2023 Lincoln Aviator leans into quiet, comfort-focused luxury, with a cabin that emphasizes serenity, upscale materials, and high-tech features. It suits you best if you want a three-row SUV that prioritizes a calm, refined driving experience over sporty engagement.

The trade-offs are real: the electric range is unimpressive, the third row is cramped, and the technology feels outdated. Even so, it still delivers great handling, a comfortable ride, and an impressive stereo.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2023 Aviator is built around Lincoln’s quiet-refinement approach, and its comfort-first character suggests a vehicle designed to make daily use feel easy and relaxed. The expert evaluation also points to a strong blend of comfort, luxury, and high-tech features, which supports the idea that it is meant to be a polished long-haul companion.

Its plug-in hybrid setup is described as making smart use of battery charge to maximize efficiency, and Lincoln’s ownership perks add convenience to the experience. At the same time, the dated technology and the complexity of the electrified drivetrain mean you should pay close attention to how well the systems work on a used example.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a neglected or poorly maintained example could be more frustrating than rewarding because of the Aviator’s layered tech and hybrid hardware.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lincoln Aviator?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage or heavily optioned example. Focus on how the cabin electronics, driver aids, and hybrid-related systems behave in real-world use, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and technology working properly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Aviator’s appeal changes a lot by trim, with the higher-end versions adding more luxury touches, lighting effects, and richer cabin materials. Base versions are more about the core quiet-luxury experience, while the upper trims lean harder into the premium presentation.
• Powertrain: The standard twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 pairs with a 10-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while the Grand Touring versions add a 75-kilowatt electric motor, a hybrid automatic transmission, and a 13.6-kilowatt-hour battery pack. The plug-in hybrid setup can deliver strong output and useful electric driving, but it is also described as sometimes unpredictable.
• Safety package: Lincoln uses Co-Pilot360 1.5, Co-Pilot360 1.5 Plus, and Co-Pilot360 2.0 collections of driver aids, with availability varying by trim. On a fully loaded example, you can find automatic high-beam adaptive-pixel headlights, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, road-sign recognition, pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic rear braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: The Aviator uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa integration, Lincoln Connect connected services, a WiFi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and navigation. It runs Sync 3, which is a weak point if you rely on voice control.
• Fuel efficiency: The plug-in hybrid is described as returning 23 mpg combined in hybrid mode and offering 21 miles of electric driving range.

Which 2023 Lincoln Aviator trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator is offered in 5 trim levels: Standard, Reserve, Black Label, Grand Touring, Black Label Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the Aviator’s quiet, comfort-first character without stretching into the pricier luxury and hybrid territory. It gives you the core three-row Aviator experience, but it is the trim where you are most likely to miss some of the richer presentation and advanced equipment found higher up.
• Reserve: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of luxury and value. It should give you more of the upscale feel that makes the Aviator appealing without pushing you all the way to the most expensive versions.
• Black Label: This is the best-value choice if you want the most convincing luxury experience without going all the way to the plug-in hybrid models. It adds the richest cabin presentation and the most premium feel among the non-hybrid trims.
• Grand Touring: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid powertrain and the added electric driving capability. It is the right fit if efficiency and strong output matter more to you than keeping things simple.
• Black Label Grand Touring: This is the top choice if you want the most lavish Aviator experience and do not mind paying for it. It combines the plug-in hybrid setup with the most upscale trim treatment.

Lincoln’s safety-assist offerings vary by trim, so make sure the specific vehicle you are considering has the driver aids you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lincoln Aviator?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,249 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,953, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator's resale value?

The current average of $41,953 sits slightly below last year's $48,909.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking the steepest part of the depreciation hit. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should still draw interest from shoppers who want a quiet, upscale three-row SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lincoln Aviator safe?

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator earns a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lincoln’s Co-Pilot360 driver-assist collections vary by trim, but a fully loaded Aviator can include automatic high-beam adaptive-pixel headlights, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, road-sign recognition, pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic rear braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, and evasive steering assist.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping system can feel overly eager to hug lane markings in curves, and the driver aids are less dependable in denser traffic and wider freeway settings.

Should I buy a 2023 Lincoln Aviator or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Lincoln left the formula largely unchanged for 2023, aside from the new Jet Package and Special Edition Luxe Package.

The bottom line: The 2023 Aviator makes the most sense if you want the quiet, comfort-first Lincoln experience and can find a well-priced example with the equipment you want. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2023 remains a strong choice when comfort and luxury matter more than cutting-edge tech.
