That small decline suggests the market has softened a bit, but not enough to signal a major drop in desirability. The steady pricing also helps future sellers because it points to a model that remains consistently shoppable rather than volatile.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,304, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,775 average.
• It adds a more performance-focused feel with a stronger enthusiast bent.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping target, the 2023 is the safer primary choice because it combines stable pricing, solid inventory, and strong owner satisfaction. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2022 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
