The 2023 Kia Stinger is a car that defies expectations. Though this sedan comes from a value-oriented brand, it delivers performance and luxury that put it on par with far more expensive cars. Unfortunately, the Kia Stinger’s production run is about to come to a close. It will be discontinued following the 2023 model year. In preparation, Kia has simplified the trim lineup down to two of its most compelling trims: the GT-Line and the GT2. Both trims provide seating for five, though the rear-seat headroom can be a bit tight due to the Stinger’s coupe-like profile. That same profile does allow for a full rear hatch (as opposed to a trunk lid), providing 23.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats.

The Stinger GT-Line comes extremely well-equipped. Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, push-button start, three USB ports, and wireless device charging. It also comes equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, split-screen functionality, and the ability to connect multiple devices to Bluetooth simultaneously.

The GT2 trim of the 2023 Stinger includes 19-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power rear hatch, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, an upgraded 15-speaker stereo system, ambient cabin lighting, and a power sunroof. Just as crucially, the GT2 adds Brembo performance brakes, variable-ratio steering, an adaptive suspension system, a limited-slip rear differential, and an active exhaust system. There’s also a Grand Tourer package that adds unique exterior and interior styling touches.

The GT-Line comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The GT2 comes equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6. It puts out 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels or to available all-wheel drive (AWD). Thanks to its standard launch control, the GT2 can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

The most fuel-efficient configuration of the Stinger is the four-cylinder engine with rear-wheel drive. It returns 22 mpg city, 32 highway, and 25 combined. Adding AWD brings fuel economy to 21 mpg city, 29 highway, and 24 combined. The twin-turbo V6 with rear-wheel drive (RWD) returns 18 mpg city, 25 highway, and 20 combined. The V6 with AWD returns 17 mpg city, 24 highway, and 20 combined.

The 2023 Kia Stinger comes equipped with a generous list of drive- assistance features, including forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The GT2 adds a blind-spot camera, head-up display, 360-degree parking monitor, and front parking sensors.

Base MSRP for the 2023 Kia Stinger is $36,690 for the GT-Line. The GT2 trim starts at $52,890. The Kia Stinger is backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
