Used 2023 Kia Forte for Sale nearBaton Rouge, LA

How much does the 2023 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 1.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,367 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Forte earns a 4.57/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive fuel economy, and comfortable ride. The Forte also gets credit for being reliable and fun to drive, with safety features that many shoppers appreciate.

On the trade-off side, the cabin can feel a bit cheap in places, especially in the trunk area, and the base engine is underwhelming. It fits best if you want an affordable compact sedan that still feels like a solid all-around contender rather than a stripped-down commuter.

Good and great deals account for 37.4% of listings, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers find reliable, and the same feedback also highlights a trouble-free, dependable feel for everyday use. In expert testing, the Forte is described as a solid choice that gives you more for the money without forcing major compromises in quality or performance.

The 10-year/100,000-mile warranty adds another layer of ownership confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that condition and maintenance history will matter more than the badge, so a careful inspection is still important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Forte?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment operation, and whether the car feels as solid as it should on the road.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base cabin uses an 8-inch touchscreen and a simpler four-speaker audio setup, while GT-Line and above move to a 10.25-inch display. The GT trims also add bolder red accents and a more upscale synthetic leather look, so base trims are the ones most likely to feel sparse.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower in the base setup, or a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 201 hp in GT models. The base powertrain is adequate for most drivers, while the GT is the choice if you want more urgency.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention monitor. Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning and a safe passenger exit system are optional on LXS, while adaptive cruise control and pedestrian/cyclist detection are optional on GT-Line and standard on Top GT trims.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the lineup. The larger 10.25-inch screen starts with GT-Line and above, and wireless charging also begins there.
• Fuel efficiency: The base LX is estimated at 34 mpg combined, other versions with the base powertrain are rated at 32 mpg combined, the automatic GT returns 30 mpg combined, and the manual GT is estimated at 26 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Forte is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, LXS, GT-Line, GT.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-first choice if you want the lowest entry price and the best fuel economy in the lineup. It gives you the essentials without the extra equipment that pushes higher trims upward.
• LXS: This is the trim to consider if you want a little more flexibility in safety equipment, since it can be optioned with blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic warning, and a safe passenger exit system.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the larger 10.25-inch display, wireless charging, navigation, and a six-speaker audio system. It’s the sweet spot if you want a more modern-feeling cabin without jumping to the performance model.
• GT: This is the pick if you want the strongest acceleration, the turbocharged engine, and the sport-tuned suspension. It also brings the most complete safety setup when you move to the Top GT trims.

The safety package is strongest on the Top GT trims, where adaptive cruise control, pedestrian/cyclist detection, and rear parking proximity sensors come standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Forte?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,367 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,495, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $18,232 sits slightly below last year's $18,532.

That kind of softening suggests the Forte is still reasonably priced in the used market, but it has not been immune to broader depreciation. For a future seller, that means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than expecting the model to hold value unusually well on its own.

Because the market has already moved down a bit, a clean, well-kept example may be easier to sell than one with visible wear or a rough history. If you buy carefully now, you can help protect your resale position later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte safe?

The 2023 Kia Forte earns four-star ratings for overall, frontal, side, and rollover protection from NHTSA, while IIHS gave it Good scores in most evaluations but Poor results in the updated front moderate overlap and side impact tests.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention monitor. Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning and a safe passenger exit system are available on LXS, while adaptive cruise control and pedestrian/cyclist detection are optional on GT-Line and standard on Top GT trims.

The main caveat is the weaker IIHS performance in the updated front moderate overlap and side impact tests, which is worth weighing if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong value with available manual transmission and a more complete-feeling cabin than many rivals.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $16,339, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $18,232 average.
• It offers updated infotainment and driver-assist tech for buyers focused on affordability.

The bottom line: If you want the better all-around used buy, the 2023 is the stronger choice because it balances value, equipment, and owner satisfaction. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the smarter price-first alternative, especially if you find one with the features you want and a clean history.
