Used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe for Sale nearHouston, TX

How much does the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe cost?

Prices have softened 14.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,093 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

It stands out as an electrified midsize SUV with real off-road credibility, and the Trailhawk 4xe is described as especially strong when the pavement ends. The plug-in hybrid powertrain is also a core strength, and the design gives it appeal beyond its trail-focused mission.

The trade-offs are clear: the electric-only range is only adequate compared with other plug-in hybrids, and the powertrain is unrefined. It also leans heavily toward capability over everyday polish, which makes it best for you if off-road use and plug-in hybrid ownership matter more than refinement.

38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe is positioned as a premium SUV with serious off-road hardware, so its reliability story is tied to how much of that capability you actually need. Jeep’s plug-in hybrid setup is built around a turbocharged four-cylinder, battery pack, and electric motor, and the vehicle is described as capable and confidence-inspiring in demanding conditions.

The powertrain is also described as unrefined in daily use, and the electric-only range falls short of expectations. If you plan to keep one long term, the biggest ownership risk is that the same hardware that makes it highly capable can also make it less satisfying if you mostly drive on-road.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the powertrain, charging behavior, and any signs of heavy use if the vehicle was driven off-road. Pay close attention to cabin condition and control usability, since the interior is described as style-forward and not especially ergonomic.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the base trim, 30th Anniversary, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. The Trailhawk stands out for its sky blue exterior detailing, matte-black hood decal, aggressive all-terrain tires, and Trail Rated badge, but the base trim lacks the more specialized off-road focus and upscale touches found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The plug-in hybrid setup pairs a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a 17.3-kilowatt-hour battery pack and an 8-speed automatic transmission with an integrated 100-kilowatt electric motor. It produces 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, and the Trailhawk can tow up to 6,000 pounds.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors. The Trailhawk adds active blind-spot monitoring, while the Advanced ProTech Group II adds intersection assist, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, and Night Vision.
• Infotainment: The Trailhawk uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, Jeep Connect services, and an Alpine premium sound system. It also includes a 10.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.3-inch front passenger screen.
• Fuel efficiency: The Grand Cherokee 4xe provides an EPA-estimated 25 miles of all-electric range and 23 mpg in combined driving when used as a hybrid vehicle. In testing, it averaged 19.3 mpg after the battery was depleted.

Which 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe trim should I buy?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is offered in 6 trim levels: base trim, 30th Anniversary, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• base trim: This is the entry point if you want the Grand Cherokee 4xe experience at the lowest starting price, but it skips the Trailhawk’s off-road hardware and the richer equipment found on the upper trims.
• 30th Anniversary: This trim adds a commemorative step up from the base model and broadens the lineup without moving all the way into the more specialized or luxury-focused versions.
• Trailhawk: This is the best fit if you want the strongest off-road character. It adds the Trail Rated badge, aggressive all-terrain tires, active blind-spot monitoring, and the specialized hardware that supports the model’s trail focus.
• Overland: This is the better choice if you want a more upscale Grand Cherokee 4xe without going all the way to the top of the range.
• Summit: This trim pushes further into luxury territory and suits you if comfort and premium presentation matter more than trail specialization.
• Summit Reserve: This is the top-end choice for buyers who want the most upscale version of the 4xe lineup.

The Trailhawk is the standout for capability, while the base trim is the value-oriented starting point if you do not need the extra equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it pays to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,093 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,283, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe's resale value?

The current average of $27,302 sits slightly below last year's $31,900.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale if you plan to sell soon. The current pricing also sits near the low end of the year-round range, which means there may be less room for further depreciation than there was a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe safe?

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also earns four-star ratings for driver protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep equips it with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors. The Trailhawk adds active blind-spot monitoring, and the Advanced ProTech Group II adds intersection assist, a surround-view camera, front parking sensors, automatic reverse braking, and Night Vision.

One important caveat is the Poor rating in the updated moderate overlap frontal-impact test. That result is tied to a gasoline Grand Cherokee used in IIHS testing, so you should still pay close attention to crash history and trim-specific equipment when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 Trailhawk gets new gloss black exterior accents and a new 30th Anniversary model joins the lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,118, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,302 average.
• It emphasizes the Grand Cherokee 4xe’s 25-mile electric range and broader appeal as a more efficient Grand Cherokee.

The bottom line: If you want the newest pricing context, the 2023 is the better target because inventory is healthy and prices have eased. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee formula.
