How much does the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 5,357 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy range of choices.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, advanced features, and strong value, and many also like the luxury-SUV feel, especially the technology and safety equipment. The review summary also points to smooth driving manners and positive feedback for AWD models, which fits a family SUV that aims to feel easy to live with. In use-case terms, it makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped two-row midsize SUV without paying luxury-brand prices.

Trade-offs include the underwhelming base engine and the lack of an N-Line performance variant, so it is not the right pick if you want a sporty personality. Even so, 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which shows there is still solid market availability for value-minded shoppers.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as comfortable, advanced, and a vehicle they enjoy living with over time, while the review summary also points to a generally dependable ownership experience. The expert evaluation adds that Hyundai backs the Santa Fe with an industry-leading warranty and complimentary maintenance, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure any example you consider has been maintained properly and does not show signs of engine-related concerns.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a vehicle-by-vehicle review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on maintenance records, tire wear, brake condition, and how the drivetrain feels under acceleration and at low speeds. If you are shopping a higher-trim example, make sure the added equipment works as expected and that the cabin shows normal wear for the mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE is the most basic version, with an 8-inch touchscreen, cloth seats, and fewer convenience features than the higher trims. The SEL adds heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a larger touchscreen, wireless charging, and push-button start, while the XRT adds rugged styling details and H-Tex seating surfaces. The Limited and Calligraphy bring the most upscale cabin experience, including a larger digital cluster, leather or Nappa leather, cooled front seats, heated rear seats, and more premium audio and comfort features.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque with an eight-speed automatic. Limited and Calligraphy trims add a turbocharged version with 281 hp and 311 pound-feet, paired with an eight-speed wet dual-clutch automatic. FWD is standard and AWD is optional across the lineup.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, driver monitoring, a safe-exit system, and a rear-seat reminder system. Highway Driving Assist comes standard on SEL and above.
• Infotainment: The base SE uses an 8-inch display audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. Other trims get a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and traffic information, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio, voice recognition, wireless device charging, digital key, and Bluelink connected services. Limited and Calligraphy also add a 12-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo FWD model returns 26 mpg combined, while the AWD version gets 24 mpg combined. The turbo FWD version delivers 25 mpg combined, and the turbo AWD version gets 24 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value entry point, and it gives you the core Santa Fe experience with standard safety tech, wireless smartphone integration, and the basic 8-inch infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the lineup, but it is also the most stripped-down version.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a larger touchscreen, wireless charging, and push-button start without jumping into luxury pricing. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to target.
• XRT: This trim is for you if you want the darker, more rugged-looking appearance package and H-Tex seating surfaces. It adds style and a tougher visual theme, but it is more about presentation than a major mechanical upgrade.
• Limited: This is the best choice if you want the turbocharged engine, more upscale comfort, and a stronger tech and audio package. It adds leather seats, a larger digital cluster, cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and Harman Kardon audio, making it the most compelling premium pick.
• Calligraphy: This is the top luxury-oriented trim, with Nappa leather, ambient lighting, a head-up display, premium exterior details, and hands-free liftgate convenience. Choose it if you want the most upscale Santa Fe experience and are willing to pay for it.

Safety content notes that Highway Driving Assist comes standard on SEL and above.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,357 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,336, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $24,118 sits slightly above last year's $24,070.

That small increase suggests the Santa Fe has held its value well rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to steady buyer interest and a predictable pricing environment. It also means you are less likely to see dramatic depreciation pressure in the near term if you keep the vehicle in good condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Santa Fe comes standard with a broad suite of driver-assistance features, including forward-collision warning with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, driver monitoring, a safe-exit system, and a rear-seat reminder system. Highway Driving Assist is standard on SEL and above, which adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. The lower trims miss some of the more upscale convenience and visibility features found higher in the lineup, but the core safety package is already extensive.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over nearly unchanged, with minor equipment shuffling and a small horsepower bump for the base engine.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,112, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $24,118 average.
• It adds a new plug-in hybrid version and a new XRT trim.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $30,430, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $24,118 average.
• It brings a full redesign with a bolder look, more space, and standard third-row seating.

The bottom line: If you want the most balanced mix of price, equipment, and proven value, the 2023 is the safest bet. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2022 can save you money, while the 2024 is the move if you want the redesign and can stretch your budget.
