Why it stands out
The 2023 Genesis G90 stands out as a major refresh for the sedan, and the test-drive data describes it as packed with more luxury features than ever before. It is positioned as a really great luxury sedan, with a stylish design and an emphasis on value for money that helps it compete on price as well as equipment.
Its cabin is especially notable for rear-seat comfort and upscale amenities. The available features called out in the source include massaging seats all the way around, a rear reclining seat with a footrest, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo system. The back seat is also described as spacious, which adds to the G90’s appeal for buyers who want a luxury sedan that prioritizes passenger comfort.
There are a couple of drawbacks to keep in mind. The source notes limited interior storage, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wired rather than wireless. Great build quality and value, every feature you would want in a luxury car. The style and materials are top notch. The drive is very smooth, and the engine is nothing special, but it has plenty of power.

Purchased a 2018 G90 Premium RWD in Dec 2022. Had been impressed with previous reviews and comparo(s) versus comparable autos. After six weeks, expectations have far exceeded hopes. Ride is silky smooth without sacrifying handling. Super quiet. That said, some functions for audio and nav are not very intuitive. Adding channels and addresses is proving more daunting than anticipated. Power is impressive for a car this size and weight. Price point versus other luxury cars is well worth giving a hard look. You won’t be disappointed.

Great features, needs larger Heads up screen, dials should not be made of plastic, 5.0 option engine, more leather, and more voice command option. Not worth 100K. Compared to Lexus and Audi A8.

How much does the 2023 Genesis G90 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $54,804 |
| Year-Round Low | $53,197.55 |
| Year-Round High | $58,501.50 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $58,502 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.32% |
Prices have softened 6.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 71 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $53,197.55, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2023 Genesis G90 a good car?
Yes — the 2023 Genesis G90 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.
The data points to a luxury sedan that leans hard into design and equipment. It is described as a major refresh with more luxury features than ever, and it stands out for rear-seat comfort, upscale materials, and a strong value proposition against pricier rivals.
The trade-offs are straightforward: you give up some interior storage, and wired smartphone mirroring is a drawback in a vehicle at this price point.
With 26.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively if you want the right combination of price and equipment.
Is the 2023 Genesis G90 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The available information also supports a strong ownership case: the G90 is presented as a well-equipped luxury sedan with a long warranty, complimentary scheduled maintenance, and a powertrain setup aimed at smooth, quiet cruising. The performance notes emphasize a refined stop/start system with no vibration or noise on restart, which is the kind of detail that usually matters in daily use.
You also get complimentary scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the car has been maintained carefully enough to preserve its luxury features and high-end electronics.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Genesis G90?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how the car was maintained or repaired. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics, seat functions, and driver-assistance features, since this model leans heavily on comfort and technology. Focus on overall condition, especially if you want the luxury experience to feel as complete as the price suggests.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The G90’s cabin presentation is a major part of the appeal, with Nappa leather, real wood veneer, ambient lighting, and a rear seat that can seat three but is clearly designed to favor outboard passenger comfort. The feature set is especially rich, so base-equipment gaps matter if you want the full luxury experience.
- Powertrain: The G90 is available with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque, or a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 E-SC with 409 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and the top setup adds a 48-volt mild hybrid system for more torque off the line.
- Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, highway driving assist, remote parking assist, a 360-degree camera, lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning and assist, and parking-collision avoidance. The blind-spot system also adds a video feed in the gauge cluster and a head-up display warning.
- Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air updates for the life of the car. Rear passengers also get an 8-inch touchscreen for seat, climate, shade, and lighting controls.
- Fuel efficiency: The less powerful engine returns 21 mpg combined (18 city / 26 highway), while the top trim returns 20 mpg combined (17 city / 24 highway).
Which 2023 Genesis G90 trim should I buy?
The 2023 Genesis G90 is offered in 2 trim levels: 3.5T, 3.5T E-SC.
Here's the short version:
- 3.5T: This is the better-value choice if you want the G90’s core luxury experience without paying for the extra power of the top trim. You still get the same broad comfort-and-tech mission, plus the standard safety and convenience equipment that makes the car feel fully loaded.
- 3.5T E-SC: This is the one to choose if you want the strongest performance and the most relaxed passing power. It adds the 48-volt mild hybrid setup and the higher output tune, and it suits you best if you want the most effortless version of the G90.
The standard safety package is impressively comprehensive across the lineup, so you are not forced into the top trim just to get the key driver-assistance features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Genesis G90?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep scarcity.
- Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 71 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 80.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $53,197.55, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Genesis G90's resale value?
The current average of $54,804 sits slightly below last year's $58,502.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car’s luxury features have been preserved.
Because this model is positioned as a value-rich flagship sedan, a clean example with strong equipment and good maintenance history should remain easier to market than one with visible wear or neglected electronics.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Genesis G90 safe?
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Genesis makes advanced driver assistance standard, and the G90 includes blind-spot monitoring, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, highway driving assist, remote parking assist, a 360-degree camera, lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning and assist, and parking-collision avoidance. The blind-spot system is especially thorough, with audible and visual alerts, a gauge-cluster video feed, and a head-up display warning.
The available information also notes that IIHS and NHTSA safety ratings have not been published yet for this model year, so you should lean more heavily on the standard equipment list and your own inspection when evaluating a used example.
Should I buy a 2023 Genesis G90 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2023 model is described as a major refresh with more luxury features than ever, including massaging seats all the way around, a rear reclining seat with a footrest, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo system.
The bottom line: If you want the most compelling mix of luxury, features, and current pricing, the 2023 is the one to target. If you are shopping primarily on price, you can still compare nearby years, but the 2023’s refreshed equipment and strong value story make it the most persuasive choice for many used buyers.
These recommendations are based on CarGurus' proprietary market data from August 28, 2026, CarGurus experts' opinions, and generative AI.
