Used 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD for Sale near Ohio

How much does the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 8.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,916 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used trucks to compare.

Is the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating points to a truck that satisfies many shoppers looking for a heavy-duty pickup with a more upscale lean. The overview highlights a broader range of trims than many rivals, including Denali and Denali Ultimate versions, plus comfort and technology features such as Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. If you want a heavy-duty truck that balances capability with a more premium cabin and more configuration choices, this model year fits that use case well. 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests you should expect a truck with strong appeal, but also one that can bring used-truck complications such as check engine lights, infotainment sluggishness, rough or delayed shifts, electrical glitches, MultiPro tailgate problems, and faulty trailer brake controllers. That means reliability for a used buyer depends heavily on condition and maintenance history rather than just the badge or trim.

For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is buying a truck with unresolved electrical, transmission, or accessory-system issues that can become expensive after purchase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough pre-purchase inspection that checks for warning lights, transmission behavior, and electrical or infotainment issues. Pay close attention to tailgate operation, trailer-brake function, and overall cabin and drivetrain condition, since those are the kinds of problems that can be costly or annoying to live with.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,916 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,794, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $53,794 sits slightly below last year's $58,744.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that holding value will depend on condition, mileage, and how well the truck is equipped relative to similar listings. Trucks with desirable trims and clean histories should be easier to move than examples with visible wear or unresolved issues.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $50,616, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $53,794 average.
• It balances capability with everyday versatility.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $65,248, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $53,794 average.
• It adds a top-tier luxury trim with stronger towing muscle.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want a premium-leaning heavy-duty truck with a healthier used-market price than the 2024. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better secondary path, especially if you can find one with the features and condition you want.
