How much does the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning cost?

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning earns a 4.43/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its power, spaciousness, and quiet operation, and those themes fit a truck that’s meant to feel familiar to traditional pickup buyers while still delivering electric advantages. It also makes sense if you want a comfortable electric truck that can tailgate, camp, or serve as a mobile power source on a job site. With 29.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning reliable?

Owners rate it 4.43/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels impressive, smooth, and generally dependable in everyday use. That said, some drivers mention real-world range falling short of expectations, so long-distance use and charging planning matter more here than they would in a conventional pickup. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the battery, charging habits, and overall condition line up with how you plan to use the truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the truck’s accident-free status matches the listing. Put inspection priority on battery-related condition, charging equipment, and any signs of heavy use, especially if the truck was used for work or frequent towing. You should also focus on overall wear, because a large electric pickup can hide expensive issues if you only judge it by appearance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 508 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.35% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 93.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,745, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning's resale value?

The current average of $45,881 sits slightly above last year's $43,969.

That upward move suggests the market still values this truck’s mix of electric capability and familiar pickup packaging. If you buy well and keep the truck in strong condition, you may be able to preserve more value than you would with a less in-demand used EV. The price trend also signals that sellers have had some leverage, which can support resale strength if demand stays steady.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.43/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.35% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.43/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $41,368, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $45,881 average.
• It brings electric power to a familiar truck with broad mainstream appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping picture, the 2023 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction with decent deal availability and a healthy accident-free share. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in strong condition and can live with the older-year tradeoff.
