Is the 2023 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Ford Expedition earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. That makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size SUV built around passenger comfort and everyday practicality. Is the 2023 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes that it feels dependable in daily family use, with praise for its comfortable ride, useful space, and strong power. That said, used buyers should still focus on maintenance records and overall condition, since long-term ownership risk is best managed by verifying how the vehicle was cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Expedition?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the SUV closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or neglected maintenance. Pay extra attention to the condition of the interior, electronics, and ride quality, since those areas matter most in a family-focused full-size SUV. If possible, test the vehicle in the situations you care about most, such as parking, highway driving, and loading passengers or cargo.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Expedition?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,894 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,719, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $44,857 sits slightly below last year's $47,360.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Strong demand from family buyers can still support resale if your Expedition stays clean and well documented.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $38,312, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $44,857 average.
• It offers strong presence and capability with a premium feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2023 is the stronger primary choice because it combines solid owner satisfaction, decent deal availability, and a healthy accident-free share. If your main goal is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
