CarGurus Analysis: 2023 Chrysler 300
overall

Summary
With 506 currently listed for sale and an average price of $29,623.00, 28.7% of 2023 Chrysler 300s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Chrysler 300 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 5.83 / 10.
76.3% of 2023 Chrysler 300 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2023 Chrysler 300 stands out as a large sedan with real muscle-car character, and its final-year status gives it added significance. It exits production after 19 years with the roar of a mighty V8, and that engine is a 6.4-liter Hemi returning to the Chrysler 300 for the first time since 2014. Available only in the limited-production 300C model, it sends power to the rear wheels, and Chrysler pairs it with wheel, tire, suspension, and braking upgrades, along with an active exhaust system, to help the car make the most of its performance.
Even with that performance focus, the 2023 Chrysler 300 remains appealing for buyers who want a striking, attractive sedan with strong value. The available V8 gives it the firepower to match its bold styling, and owners also praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, comfort, and style. Its drawbacks are just as clear: the platform is aging, and the car is held back by poor fuel economy, outdated technology, and unimpressive safety ratings.

The roar of the 6.4L hemi is second to none. I wish the radio had been updated but seeing how this is the last model year, I understand. The ride is comfy and the seats hug you nicely. I get a lot of compliments on this car. You wont be disappointed.

Chyster 300 is roomy, powerful, and very economical. Smooth transmission, but rear wheel drive not good in snow.

The 300 is one of the smoothest accelerating cars I have ever driven and the ride feels like you are gliding down the road. The ZF 8-speed is smooth and reliable. Honestly Dodge and Chrysler is building the best cars they have built since the 60s and 70s. I rented one with over 60,000 miles on it and after that I had to buy one. After over 60,000 miles and being beat as a rental, the 300 didnt have a single rattle or noise in the interior and drove smooth as butter. That impressed me and I feel in love with the car. Get one while you still can.

How much does the 2023 Chrysler 300 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $29,640 |
| Year-Round Low | $27,549.01 |
| Year-Round High | $30,782.19 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $30,769 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −3.67% |
Prices have softened 3.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 511 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare options before you buy.
If you find a listing below $27,549.01, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2023 Chrysler 300 a good car?
Yes — the 2023 Chrysler 300 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.83/10 expert rating.
The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.
Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, comfort, style, and powerful performance. The model also comes through as a strong value for an American sedan, especially if you want a large car with real presence.
The trade-offs are clear: the platform is aging, the technology feels outdated, and safety is a weak point. The overview also makes it clear that this is a fit for you if you want a striking, full-size sedan with muscle-car character rather than a modern, tech-heavy commuter.
Only 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.
Is the 2023 Chrysler 300 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car you can count on for smooth ride quality, comfort, and strong performance over time. It also suggests the 300 has the kind of durable, straightforward character that appeals to buyers who want a familiar full-size sedan rather than something overly complicated.
The expert evaluation reinforces that dependability angle by describing the car as a straightforward, old-school performance sedan with a conventional automatic transmission and a platform that has been around for years. That said, long-term ownership risk for used buyers is tied more to age, fuel costs, and wear on older components than to any single mechanical red flag.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chrysler 300?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear items, electronics, and any signs that the car has been driven hard. Given the model’s age and performance focus, condition matters more than mileage alone.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Touring and Touring L are the more mainstream choices, while the 300S adds a stronger performance-oriented setup and the 300C is the limited-production, fully loaded sendoff with the most aggressive hardware. The base versions are the ones most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about features and performance.
- Powertrain: The Touring and Touring L use a V6, while the 300S can be had with a V6 or V8 and the 300C uses a 6.4-liter V8 with rear-wheel drive. The V8 models deliver the most excitement, but they also bring worse fuel economy.
- Safety package: The Safety Tec Plus Group adds forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Many of these features are optional rather than standard on most versions.
- Infotainment: The car uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through a USB data port. It also offers navigation, traffic report, voice recognition, SiriusXM, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, but the system is clearly dated.
- Fuel efficiency: The 300C returns an official 18 mpg in combined driving, and the evaluation loop averaged 17.5 mpg.
Which 2023 Chrysler 300 trim should I buy?
The 2023 Chrysler 300 is offered in 4 trim levels: Touring, Touring L, 300S, and 300C.
Here's the short version:
- Touring: This is the entry point if you want the Chrysler 300’s size and style at the lowest price, but it is also the trim most likely to feel basic if you want more equipment or stronger performance.
- Touring L: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it keeps the core full-size sedan appeal while adding a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the performance-focused trims.
- 300S: Choose this if you want a more athletic setup and the option of a V8, since it moves the car closer to the 300’s muscle-car personality.
- 300C: This is the one to buy if you want the full sendoff: the limited-production V8, the performance hardware, and the most complete version of the car’s character.
The Safety Tec Plus Group is the key safety-package note to keep in mind, since many driver-assistance features are not standard on most trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chrysler 300?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 511 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.67% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 77.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,549.01, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Chrysler 300's resale value?
The current average of $29,640 sits slightly below last year's $30,769.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current trend implies you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, trim, and whether the car has the desirable V8 setup.
Because this is the final model year and the car has strong enthusiast appeal, well-kept examples may continue to draw interest. Still, the aging platform and fuel economy penalties mean resale will likely be strongest for cleaner, better-equipped cars that stand out from the pack.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Chrysler 300 safe?
The Chrysler 300 gets a Marginal rating in the IIHS moderate-overlap frontal-impact test, and the IIHS says its headlight performance is Poor.
It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.
The available driver-assistance suite is the Safety Tec Plus Group, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Most of those features are optional rather than standard on all but the fully loaded 300C.
That weak crash-test showing is the main caution here. If safety is a top priority for you, this is one of the biggest reasons to shop carefully and compare the 300 against newer alternatives.
Should I buy a 2023 Chrysler 300 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 23.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.67% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The final-year 300C brings the 6.4-liter Hemi back and caps the model’s run with the most memorable performance setup.
The bottom line: If you want the most significant version of the Chrysler 300, the 2023 model is the one to target because it combines final-year status with the return of the big V8. If you are more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and focus on cleaner, lower-priced listings, but the 2023 makes the most sense when you value the sendoff character as much as the deal itself.
