Used 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer for Sale near New York

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer cost?

Prices have softened 6.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,137 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its features, comfort, driving dynamics, safety technology, and spaciousness. That lines up with the Trailblazer’s use case as Chevrolet’s entry-level SUV for 2023: you get a small crossover that emphasizes value, easy-to-use tech, and a distinctive design rather than flash.

The main trade-offs are the irritating transmission and the fact that advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, the Trailblazer’s affordable positioning and useful equipment make it a strong fit if you want a practical small SUV with personality.

Good and great deals account for 35.6% of listings, so there’s still room to find a competitive price.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for comfort, features, and the kind of ownership experience that makes people feel good about keeping it. The expert evaluation also supports that impression by describing the Trailblazer as a value-focused small SUV with easy-to-use technology and a practical, approachable character.

Chevrolet’s warranty coverage also helps reduce early ownership risk, especially if you’re buying used and want some buffer against unexpected repairs. For long-term ownership, the bigger concern is less about outright durability and more about whether the transmission behavior and fuel economy will suit your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re considering, because accident-free share is strong but not universal. Prioritize a careful inspection of the transmission behavior, interior condition, and any signs that the vehicle has been used hard. It’s also worth checking whether the features you want are actually present, since some desirable safety and convenience items are optional rather than standard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LS is the entry point and is limited to the smaller engine and front-wheel drive, while LT adds the option of all-wheel drive and the larger engine. Activ and RS bring distinct styling, with Activ leaning more rugged and RS leaning sportier.
• Powertrain: The standard 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder makes 137 horsepower and is front-wheel drive only, while the optional 1.3-liter turbo-three makes 155 horsepower and can be paired with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Front-wheel-drive models use a CVT, while all-wheel-drive models use a nine-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and Teen Driver. Blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are optional.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. An 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, a Bose audio system, rear-seat USB ports, and wireless phone charging are optional.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA ratings are 29 mpg city and 31 mpg highway for 1.2-liter front-wheel-drive models, 29 mpg city and 33 mpg highway for 1.3-liter front-wheel-drive models, and 26 mpg city and 30 mpg highway for 1.3-liter all-wheel-drive models.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, Activ, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the cheapest way into the Trailblazer, but it is also the most limited because it comes only with the smaller engine and front-wheel drive. It makes sense if your priority is the lowest entry price and you’re comfortable keeping the equipment list simple.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it opens the door to the larger engine and all-wheel drive while staying below the more style-focused upper trims. If you want the most balanced mix of price, flexibility, and equipment, start here.
• Activ: Choose this if you want the Trailblazer’s more rugged look and the extra personality that comes with it. It adds unique styling, roof rails, and chunkier tires, and it suits buyers who care about appearance and a slightly more adventurous vibe.
• RS: Pick this if you want the sportiest-looking Trailblazer, with blacked-out trim, a mesh grille, and dual exhaust outlets. It is the right choice if style matters most and you want the most aggressive visual treatment.

Optional safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are not standard, so check each listing carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,137 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,581, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer's resale value?

The current average of $20,581 sits slightly below last year's $21,979.

That price movement suggests the Trailblazer has softened enough to create a better entry point for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about pricing. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

The model’s value story is helped by steady shopper interest, especially because it combines style, practicality, and easy-to-use technology in a small-SUV package. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer was named a 2022 Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it earns five-star ratings in the frontal and side crash-test categories, and four-star ratings in rollover crash testing from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and Teen Driver. Optional driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

One caveat is that the standard halogen headlights were only rated “Average,” while the optional LED headlights earned a “Good” score. If safety is a top priority, it’s worth checking which headlight setup and driver-assistance features a specific used Trailblazer has.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Trailblazer’s value-focused formula with easy-to-use tech and distinctive styling.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,535, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,581 average.
• It emphasizes style, practicality, and approachable everyday appeal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $22,245, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $20,581 average.
• It adds a more well-rounded mix of space, cargo room, and everyday polish.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2023 is the strongest default choice. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 can save you money, while the 2024 is worth considering if you want a newer-feeling small SUV and are willing to pay more.
