Available engines include a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel is also on offer; it produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All engines come paired with a ten-speed automatic and either rear- or four-wheel drive (RWD or 4WD). The appeal of a full-size, body-on-frame SUV for many is the capability and towing. The Tahoe can carry up to 1,746 pounds of payload in certain configurations and can tow up to 8,400 pounds. That’s as much as some pickup trucks, but remember that payload ratings also include passenger weight, so it’s not a great idea to load the Tahoe down with people and then try to carry a heavy load of cargo in back. The base Tahoe LS gets cloth upholstery, but moving up the trim ladder brings more luxurious finishes for the seats and cabin. The system also makes it less distracting to interact with the truck while driving. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, USB inputs, and more all come standard. The 2023 Tahoe hasn’t received full crash test ratings yet, but Chevrolet loads it up with advanced safety gear. The SUV gets Chevy Safety Assist, which brings automatic emergency braking, forward collision alerts, front pedestrian braking, following distance indicators, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warnings, and automatic high beams. Pricing for the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe starts at $56,095 for the base LS trim. The top Premier and High Country models start at $69,495 and $76,295, respectively. As it does for its trucks, Chevrolet offers numerous upgrades and options for the Tahoe, including more powerful engines, upgraded audio and tech features, and nicer interior trim.
