Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this heavy-duty truck. The 2023 Silverado 2500HD stands out as a capable pickup that blends serious work ability with a more modern, better-equipped cabin than older work-focused trucks. It also gives you broad trim choices and useful trailering technology, which makes it appealing if you want a truck that can handle demanding jobs without feeling stripped down inside.

With 34.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Silverado 2500HD is presented as a truck built for serious capability, with a standard gas V8, an available Duramax turbodiesel, and a 10-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with useful trailering equipment and available driver-assistance features that can make ownership easier in daily use and while towing.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic usefulness and more about how hard the truck was worked, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the truck for signs of heavy towing, job-site wear, or uneven maintenance. Pay close attention to the cabin, trailering equipment, and any signs that the truck was used hard, since condition can vary a lot in heavy-duty pickups.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate market, so selective buyers can still find value if they compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,979 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $44,604, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $44,604 sits slightly below last year's $49,639.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face some price pressure if the truck continues to depreciate at a similar pace. Strong equipment, broad capability, and a well-regarded ownership experience can help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable towing features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,497, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $44,604 average.
• It adds a refreshed look and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability and strong owner satisfaction. If you care more about the refreshed styling and added off-road focus, the 2024 is the better alternative, but you should expect to pay more. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2023 is the more practical choice.
