How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

There are 9,657 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

It fits you well if you want a straightforward compact crossover that is practical, affordable, and easy to live with. The ride quality is a strength, the technology is easy to use, and it offers excellent value for money.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission can be irritating, and road noise is a drawback.

Good and great deals account for 37.3% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Equinox is built around a practical, affordable formula, and its easy-to-use layout supports low-stress ownership. Its updated braking system and well-sorted chassis also help it feel composed in everyday driving.

The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the sole powertrain, and it delivers enough torque for around-town use while remaining manageable on the highway. Chevrolet’s six-speed automatic and the engine’s noise under hard acceleration are the main durability-and-refinement concerns you should keep in mind over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with added equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Chevrolet sells the 2023 Equinox in four trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier. The LS is the most basic version, and it misses some comfort features that are available or standard on higher trims, including heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
• Powertrain: A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the sole powertrain option. It makes 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, and it is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams. Chevrolet doesn’t offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.
• Infotainment: The LS, LT, and RS use a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Premier gets an 8-inch screen. All trims get wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus Bluetooth connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models should return 26 mpg city, 31 highway, and 28 combined, while AWD models should return 24 mpg city, 30 highway, and 26 combined.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Equinox lineup and are comfortable with the most basic equipment.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful comfort and convenience upgrades without pushing you all the way to the top of the range.
• RS: Choose this if you want a sportier appearance and a more distinctive look, while still staying below the Premier.
• Premier: This is the most upscale choice, with the most premium-feeling equipment and the largest touchscreen.

The standard safety package includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,657 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,809, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $20,809 sits slightly below last year's $22,322.

That price movement suggests the Equinox has softened enough to give used buyers a better entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped.

Because the model remains practical and affordable, well-kept examples should still attract steady interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams. Chevrolet does not offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.

The main caveat is the IIHS result: the Equinox scored a Poor rating in the moderate overlap front crash test and a Marginal score in the side-impact crash test.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Chevy added a little extra power, a more sophisticated braking system, and three new paint colors for 2023.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,600, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,809 average.
• It adds revised styling and wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2023 if you want the stronger market position, updated hardware, and broader current-year appeal. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the better value play.
