Used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearMontgomery, AL

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 7.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 11,609 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

The Equinox is a sensible choice in a crowded compact-crossover field, with practical packaging, easy-to-use technology, and strong value for money. It also gets subtle updates for 2023, including a little extra engine power, a more sophisticated braking system, and new paint colors.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission is irritating, and road noise is noticeable.

Good and great deals account for 36.6% of listings, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Equinox is built around practicality and affordability, and its 2023 updates help keep it current without changing its basic formula. The added engine power and brake-by-wire system improve the driving experience, while the model’s easy-to-use controls and straightforward layout support everyday dependability.

Its 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the only powertrain, and the six-speed automatic is a recurring weak point because it can hold gears longer and contribute to noise. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership should be manageable, but you should pay close attention to how the transmission and brakes feel on a test drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on overall condition, cabin wear, and how smoothly the powertrain behaves in everyday driving.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Chevrolet sells the 2023 Equinox in four trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier. The base LS misses heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, while those features are available or standard on higher trims.
• Powertrain: A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the only engine, and it delivers 175 horsepower for 2023. It works well around town, but acceleration gets noisy and less convincing at higher speeds.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams. Chevrolet does not offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.
• Infotainment: The LS, LT, and RS use a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Premier gets an 8-inch screen. All trims include wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD models should return 24 mpg city, 30 highway, and 26 combined, while FWD models should return 26 city, 31 highway, and 28 combined.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but it leaves out some comfort features that matter in daily use, including heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience flexibility without jumping all the way to the top. It’s the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of price and equipment.
• RS: This trim adds a sportier look and includes heated front seats as standard, making it a good fit if you want a more distinctive appearance and extra comfort.
• Premier: This is the most upscale choice, with the larger 8-inch touchscreen and standard heated front seats and heated steering wheel. It suits you best if you want the most complete Equinox experience.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but Chevrolet does not offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 11,609 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,650, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $20,650 sits slightly below last year's $22,238.

That price movement suggests the Equinox has softened enough to create a more favorable entry point for used buyers. For a future seller, that means resale value may be steadier if you buy at the current market level rather than paying above average today.

The model’s practical appeal and broad shopper interest should help support demand, especially if you choose a well-kept example with strong equipment. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA. It also scored a Poor rating in the IIHS moderate overlap front crash test and a Marginal score in the IIHS side-impact crash test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams. Chevrolet does not offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.

The weak IIHS results are the main safety caveat to keep in mind when you’re shopping used.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 brings extra engine power, a more sophisticated braking system, and new paint colors.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,464, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,650 average.
• It adds revised styling, wireless smartphone integration, and available parking-assist features.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the better-updated version with stronger market availability and a still-reasonable price. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.
