Used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearAustin, TX

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 6.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,729 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

It remains a sensible choice in a crowded compact-crossover field, with a practical, affordable formula that has made it one of the best-selling compact crossovers on the market. The ride quality is a strength, the technology is easy to use, and it offers excellent value for money.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission can be irritating, and road noise is a drawback. For you, that means the Equinox makes the most sense if you want straightforward everyday usability rather than a sporty driving experience.

The market shows 33.0% of listings as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Equinox is built around a practical, easy-to-live-with formula, and its updated braking system and well-sorted suspension support that reputation. Its 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the sole powertrain, and it delivers enough low-speed torque for around-town driving.

Chevrolet also gives you a simple ownership experience, with straightforward controls and easy-to-use technology. The cost-effectiveness content also notes that Chevrolet may be offering incentives, which can help lower your ownership cost.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the model’s age shows in some areas, so condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on overall condition, because the Equinox’s value proposition depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and equipped.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS, LT, RS, and Premier trims differ in comfort and convenience, with heated front seats standard on the RS and Premier but not the LS. The base LS also misses the heated steering wheel that’s available on the LT and RS.
• Powertrain: A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the sole powertrain, and it makes 175 horsepower. It’s adequate for commuting, but it is not especially quick, and the six-speed automatic can contribute to a noisy driving experience.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams. Chevrolet does not offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.
• Infotainment: The LS, LT, and RS use a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Premier gets an 8-inch screen. All trims get wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and the system is easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models should return 26 mpg city and 31 highway, while AWD models should return 24 mpg city and 30 highway.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but it leaves out some comfort features that matter in daily use, including heated front seats and the heated steering wheel. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Equinox, but it is not the best-value pick.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful comfort and convenience features while keeping the Equinox’s core strengths intact. If you want a balanced mix of price and equipment, start here.
• RS: This trim adds a more upscale feel and includes heated front seats as standard. It suits you if you want a little more style and comfort without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Premier: This is the most fully equipped version, with the larger 8-inch touchscreen and standard heated front seats and heated steering wheel. Choose it if you want the most comfort and the most polished Equinox experience.

The safety package includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,729 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,924, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $20,924 sits slightly below last year's $22,356.

That price movement suggests the Equinox has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. Because the market has softened, your resale outcome will depend heavily on trim, condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

If you buy carefully now, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. A clean history and strong equipment mix should help your listing stand out when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Equinox includes a suite of standard advanced driver assistance systems, including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams. Chevrolet does not offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.

A key caveat is that the Equinox scored a Poor rating in the IIHS moderate overlap front crash test and a Marginal score in the side-impact crash test, so safety-conscious shoppers should weigh those results carefully.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings subtle but meaningful updates, including extra engine power, a more sophisticated braking system, and new paint colors.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,680, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,924 average.
• It adds revised styling and wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: If you want the better-rounded choice, the 2023 is the stronger pick because it adds useful updates while still offering strong value and broad availability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Equinox’s easy-to-use, practical character.
