Used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearChippewa Falls, WI

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 6.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,864 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

It’s a strong choice if you want a midsize truck that emphasizes capability, modern tech, and everyday usefulness, though it comes with a few notable compromises. The user rating is 3/5, and the expert rating is 6.5/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Colorado’s appeal starts with its practical crew-cab, short-bed setup, strong towing and payload numbers, and up-to-date cabin tech. It also brings off-road-oriented trims and a design that looks the part, which fits buyers who want a truck that can handle work, recreation, and rougher terrain.

The trade-offs are clear: the forward collision warning system can be aggravating, fuel economy is poor, and the interior materials feel cheap. If you value capability and tech more than cabin polish and efficiency, it makes sense to keep it on your list.

Good and great deals: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there’s room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2023 Colorado is built around a straightforward turbocharged four-cylinder setup and a modern feature set, which supports a practical ownership experience. Its powertrain is described as robustly engineered, and the truck’s standard tech and safety equipment help it feel current.

The performance content points to a strong, capable truck with plenty of power, while the cost-effectiveness notes make clear that fuel use can be a weak spot over time. The same materials also suggest that the truck’s value equation is helped by its price, but not necessarily by long-term operating costs.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that fuel expenses and the forward-collision warning issue could make day-to-day living with the truck more frustrating than expected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and driver-assistance behavior, since the truck’s tech is a major part of its appeal. Pay close attention to overall condition, especially if you’re considering a truck that has seen off-road use or heavy towing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT and Trail Boss show the biggest contrast in appearance and equipment, with the WT looking plainer and lacking the Trail Boss’s purposeful skid plate and off-road stance. The LT, Z71, and ZR2 add nicer cabins and more body-color treatment, so base-trim shoppers should expect a more basic feel.
• Powertrain: Every 2023 Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic. WT and LT get 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while Trail Boss and Z71 rise to 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet; ZR2 keeps 310 horsepower and increases torque to 430 pound-feet.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets digital instrumentation and an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, OnStar, Chevrolet connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are included, and wireless charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trail Boss is rated at 19 mpg, and testing returned 17 mpg.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the entry point, but it still gets the Colorado’s digital instrumentation and 11.3-inch touchscreen, which makes it a smart pick if you want the newest tech without paying for off-road extras.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it keeps the modern tech while adding a more polished everyday setup than the WT, and it can still be configured with 2WD or 4WD.
• Trail Boss: This is the right choice if you want a more capable off-road setup, including standard 4WD, a 2-inch suspension lift, all-terrain tires, and hill descent control.
• Z71: This trim builds on the off-road theme with standard 4WD and the stronger 310-horsepower engine, making it a good middle ground if you want more capability without going all the way to the top.
• ZR2: This is the most serious off-road model, with a 3-inch lift, mud-terrain tires, exclusive Multimatic DSSV dampers, and the most torque in the lineup.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, but the more advanced driver-assistance features remain optional on the Colorado.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,864 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,749, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $33,340 sits slightly below last year's $35,763.

That price movement suggests the Colorado has become a bit more accessible for used buyers, which can help demand stay healthy. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation compared with paying closer to the top of the range.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that the market has already adjusted downward, so resale strength will depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment. Well-kept trucks with desirable features should hold up better than basic or heavily used examples.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The 2023 Colorado does not stand out as a safety leader, and its expert safety score reflects that. It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional safety upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.

The main caveat is the forward collision warning system, which can be overly sensitive and irritating in everyday driving. That issue is serious enough that it may affect how satisfied you feel with the truck over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.78% compared with last year.
• The 2023 focuses on a crew-cab, short-bed layout with strong capability and modern standard tech.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,360, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,340 average.
• It leans more heavily into a modern lifestyle-pickup approach with a more contemporary presence.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because it combines lower pricing with strong capability and modern equipment. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling direction, the 2024 is the alternative to compare.
